I just posted a topic and now I realise before that can be discussed another question must be awnsered. What makes a blackbelt? I believe Fighting Ability, Technique and Wisdom are the three things one needs to obtain his/her belt.

I think no one has the right to order another around if they are not a student of thiers. It's probably my fault for not being clear. What they were doing was ordering them to move out of the way at the registration desk. Also a belt test first of all should be free but that will never happen. Secondly the test should be lasting for weeks before the actual test begins as one day can't judge a person's progress. Well that's my opinion but god knows things will never change.

It bothers me because there behavior and skill reflect on me and all Martial Artists.

Tournaments
BlueDragon replied to Blade13's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
I hear you man. I was kicked out of my last tournament for "intentional injuring another competitor" I'll I did was kick him in the stomach through a chest guard and he collapsed. -
Disprove the existence of chi? I am a frim believer in it but even if I wasn't I don't understand why you would want to do it. What good could come from destroying the beliefs of millions? Live and let live.

Jumping kicks are fun to do but in a fight they leave you vulnreble. If you are going to use them then remember to pull your leg up or someone could tap you and flip you.

Do children deserve BlackBelts? At every demonstration or tournament I've been to there is always kids walking around with a BlackBelt. The worst part is they are ****y. They walk around barking orders at everyone even if they are twice there age. The funny part is when they get in the ring at get thier butt kicked by an orange belt.

I say go back to Kyokushin. It would be nice to have someone around who does it to.

I'll I know is that if I am diagnosed with a terminal illness then I'm strapping a bomb to my chest and walking into a PQ convention. Take some of those peppers with me.

Sparring is extremly important. Martial Arts is about fighting and sparring is the closest you can come without risking your life.

My fellow Canadians will get this joke. A gorgeos blonde, a fat chick, an Amereican and a Canadian are all on a train. A few minutes into the trip the traine enters a tunnel and everything goes black. In the darkness there is a "slapping" sound and when the train comes out of the tunnel there is a big redmark accross the american's face. The fat chick thought "That filthy American grabbed the blonde who slapped him". The blonde thought "The American had tried to touch her but grabbed the fat chick who slapped him". The American thought "That horny Canadian grabbed the blond who slapped me by mistake" The Canadian thought "I hope there is another tunnel soon so I can slap that stupid American again" Sorry if I have offended anyone. It is just some good old ribbing from your friends to the north.

Here is an idea for making Katas more challenging. Take a group of people and place them in the center of the room. Then point them in a random direction. Now make them do a kata or pion(I don't think that's spelled right) making sure they keep in rythem with each other. It's challenging to do crisp movements while not walking straight into a person. It teachs awareness while encouraging inventivness in style and technique.
