  1. NBC aired a very moving Legacy on Ice held a memorial ceremony this morning. Current and retired skaters performed routines to support loved ones and honor the lives affected by the American Airlines Flight 5342 crash where 67 perished; 64 passengers and crew on the airliner and the 3 crew of the Black Hawk helicopter.
  2. My Knights seem to be doing well this season. Maybe they can return to the Stanley Cup. Knights find themselves in 1st place in the Pacific Division. They’re 3 games ahead the Kings. Knights have amassed 42 wins and 20 losses with only 20 games remaining in the season. Knights are on a 3 win streak at home: Bruins 0…Knights 5 Red Wings 3…Knights 6 Lightning 2…Knights 4 Knights face Wild on their ice today. GO KNIGHTS!!
  3. Sub-Zero is my all time favorite!! Those were the days. I use to spend a lot of time playing Mortal Kombat but then lost interest for some reason. Oh well, I still have fond memories.
  4. I was a long time subscriber of BBM but I have stopped reading it because there seemed to be much more ads than before and not as many articles. BBM returned to print back in October 2024.
  5. “Sports writers play a significant role in determining who gets inducted into the Major League Baseball (MLB) Hall of Fame because they are part of the voting body for the Hall of Fame’s election process.” WHY?? Seems that the MLB and NBA gave a power to their respective sports writers but the NFL and the NHL didn’t. I understand that sports writers play a significant role in any sport, both amateur and professional, but they’ve not ever played professionally and have no idea what it takes to be in thick of the game as armchair players who’ve not shed their blood, sweat, and tears on the gridiron, diamond, court, or ice but behind a typewriter. Does Rose deserve to be in the MLB HOF?? I don’t know!! Seems to me that that decision needs to be rightfully up to those who’ve played the respective sport as well as those who’ve earned their places in their respective HOF, and not to the sports writers. Imho!!
  6. Sorry they cut the scene, Patrick; editing can be the bane on making a movie.
  7. Happy 85th Birthday, Mr. Norris!! Have a safe and fun birthday!! Nah, I don’t plan on watching any Chuck Norris movies today, or soon.
  8. Raiders now have a new QB…Geno Smith from the Seahawks in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick. Seahawks are now pursuing Sam Darnold from the Vikings. Geno and HC Pete Carroll are quite familiar with each other…they once were with the Seahawks together. We’ll see what we see when we see it. GO COWBOYS!!
  9. Keeping on the mat even after the season ends is quite admirable. Good luck, Kenneth!! Looking forward to your updates.
  10. Interesting!! If, and “if” is a big word, MLB does allow Pete Rose on a HOF Ballot, and makes it into the HOF, then perhaps MLB needs to do the same for the 1920 Black Sox’s 8 players, especially Shoeless Joe Jackson. There is the 1991 Pete Rose Rule…A permanent ban from baseball is grounds for not being eligible for the Hall of Fame
  11. Everything seems to be smelling like roses for the Raiders, especially whenever I watch any Raiders press conferences and interviews as of late. Let’s see if that optimism carries over into the gridiron this upcoming season. GO COWBOYS!!
  12. Knights had a back and forth battle on the ice with the Blackhawks. Knights came out with victory with the final score of 7-5. GO KNIGHTS!!
  13. Actually, I saw that character in episodes 1 and 2.
  14. Great information from the standpoint of a LEO; thanks, Brian!!
  15. Fantastic update all around. Bumps are expected during the season and it seems that Kenneth meet them all with fired up vigorous energy. Ending the season at .500 is nothing to sneeze about especially with what he’s had to deal with on the mat. You’ve every reasons to be proud of Kenneth across the board. Please give Kenneth my most sincere congratulations for all he’s accomplished this season. GO KENNETH!!
  16. Great articles, Brian; thanks!! Whenever it comes to allowable force in self-defense, you’d know better than many of us here seeing that you’re a LEO, Brian. What I’ve been telling my students forever and a day, is this, please correct me, Brian if I’m wrong. What I know is that one’s allowed “reasonable force” to end a threat…and no more. What’s “reasonable force”?? Proportionally, imminent, duty to retreat, and excessive; knowing the difference between them is essentially the responsibility of anyone, and not just a MAist. Proportionally means the amount of force must match the level of the threat. Imminent means force can be only used when an imminent threat of harm. Duty of retreat means I must be required to retreat before I can use force. Excessive force means that if I use more force than necessary to defend myself can be considered a crime. The law can seem quite ambiguous where force is involved. Hopefully Brian can help us to better understand from a LEO’s standpoint.
  17. Here’s my 2-cents… “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”-Einstein “I’ve not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”-Edison
  18. Impressive!! I’ve no carpenter skills of any type. I might be able to nail two pieces of wood together but that’s the extent of it. I’m embarrassed, to say the least.
  19. The movie Miracle tells that story about the iconic game…USA vs USSR
  20. I’m starting to watch a 6-episode miniseries on Netflix, starring Robert De Niro, titled Zero Day. It’s about an American political thriller centering on a devastating global cyberattack that implicating the highest levels of the US Federal Government. One of the characters is a NSA Operative named…Patrick O’Keefe. Kind of tickled me a bit when I heard the name, Patrick O’Keefe, which as all of you know, is the very same name of our beloved KF Administrator…Patrick O’Keefe. It always tickled me whenever I hear the name…Robert Mitchum…in old movies. I spell my last name differently than the actor…my name is Robert Mitcham. Maybe our Patrick is moonlighting as a NSA Operative…which would be so cool.
  21. Absolutely!! There’s so much to Kata than memorizing the embusen. Because of that, drilling said kata over and over on the intricacies that belongs to said kata is critical.
  22. That’s what’s great about a door. It opens to let people in and let people out. Meaning?? When one student exits out the door, a prospective student comes in the door. Please don’t misunderstand my coldness, but I can’t be affected either war because if I’m affected by whether a student stays or quits, then I’m not giving my all to the students who’ve chosen to remain on the floor.
  23. I’ve racked myself more times that I care to remember. Each of those times I’d find myself curled up on the ground for about 30 minutes wishing I wasn’t so dumb. How many times have I smacked my funny bone while training with the Nunchakus or the back of my head or between my legs or the tip of my fingers/thumb?? So many times…it wasn’t that funny whenever it happened.
