We’re all students of the MA; that will never change because humans don’t know everything and we’re not perfect whatsoever. Even whenever I was teaching at my own dojo forever and a day, I was still training with my Sensei up to the day he passed away. Instructors can choose whomever they want to teach, and at the same time, the instructor can choose to not teach at all, even if they’re allowed to do so.

Of course the NFL wants their revenue to grow because after all, the NFL is a business, and a business wants to make money; that’s why any business is around…to make money. 18 regular season games, and the NFL is wanting to push for a 20 game season?!? Money over the wellbeing of the players. Once again, practicality no longer exists whenever money is involved.

Who you going to get? I’ve no idea who to get to replace Dak but there has to be some QB somewhere that can be better than the choke artist Dak.

Imho, Vegas excuse for gouging tickets is because Vegas is the entertainment capital of the USA. Hogwash!! Saw on the news her in Vegas not too long ago that Ticketmaster had a major glitch of some type that highly affected the Metallica ticket prices; tickets were in the thousands of dollars. Don’t get me wrong, tickets in Vegas are very steep. Tickets to the Sphere are ridiculously high anyway; according to the Sphere, it loses millions of dollars a year.

I greatly admire your dedication to your health for all of these years. Thank you for allowing us a glimpse into your journey of maintaining your health.

I respect that wholeheartedly.

How is your Testing Cycle panels formed for your Senior ranks?!? In Shindokan, we test up to, and including, Hachidan.

. You’re not implying that Sanchin IS the property of Uechi-Ryu alone?!? Imho, no matter the Kata, all Kata are for every practitioner of the MA. I’m not strictly a Shindokan practitioner that only trains in Shindokan Kata because other Kata from other styles do offer a model of effectiveness that I can’t deny.

YAHOO!! Congrats to Kenneth for making it to state tournament; he’ll do great!! Sounds to me Kenneth has his head screwed on right now because he believes that he can fix that issue. That’s the mind of a great fighter!! Hang in there and please convey my deepest support to Kenneth; he’ll do whatever he needs to do. He’ll do great!!

Here’s a statement from the Raiders… “The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time.” Ouch!! **Update just in: Ravens backed out of Maxx Crosby trade due to medical concerns from his physical!! Double Ouch!!

No bunkai until shodan?
sensei8 replied to Spartacus Maximus's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
No bunkai until Shodan is so alien to me. But what’s even more alien to me is that bunkai without resistance. If your dojo includes live sparring with unpredictable attacks, pressure tested applications of kata , and training against resistant opponents at close range, then your doing karate as it was meant to be!! Effectiveness requires testing!! Imho. -
Raiders also finally got rid of Geno Smith. Now, if my Cowboys would follow suit by getting rid of Dak Prescott, my life would be sweeter. In addition, why are the Raiders building their payroll from the Seahawks?!? Surely they can shop around somewhere else.

Tons of people that must have more money then they can shake a stick at because I see sold-out stadiums everywhere. Nothing will ever change in my lifetime so I will continue to watch the NFL on my tv. Oh well!!

Yeah, not good. Knights have lost 3 games straight. Not good at all. My thing is that I don’t get my dandruff up until the all-star break, except for the NFL because the NFL doesn’t have an all-star break. -
Thanks, Brian; I hope exactly like you and others!!

Doctor said that it could be due to a lack of calcium over a person’s lifetime. She didn’t want to say much more until all test results are in. I’ve drank an oceans worth of milk my entire life!!

I believe I already answered that.

The Knights are back on the ice tonight to take on the Buffalo Sabres. This could be a pivotal part of the season. If the Knights lose and Ducks win, the Knights will no longer be in first place. Both the Knights and the Ducks face tough opponents tonight. Buffalo is one of the hottest teams on the ice in the league. The Ducks take on the Avalanche, who have the best record in the entire league. The Knights did just played the Kings last night. Knights may be tired. Knights will have to play without their captain, Mark Stone. Knights HC, Cassidy, said that Stone is currently day to day due to an upper body injury he sustained in Sunday’s game Shute Penguins. Puck drop is set for 4:00pm in Buffalo. If they lose, they’ll have to watch and see the Ducks win, and that games goes off 7:00pm. But you know, my Knights coming off of that 5 nothing shut out where they were on the losing end in Pittsburgh. So, my Knights need to get things back in their winning ways. GO KNIGHTS!! -
We both keep fighting the good fight; that’s all we have to do…you at 73 and me at 68!! I just wish the best for us and everyone else that’s fighting something. I’d like to live in my 90’s but that’s up to God!!

Saw my Oncologist this Saturday morning, yeah, I was surprised myself because not many doctors work on Saturday. Monday my Oncologist calls me and tells me that she needs to come to her office this Saturday, even though I’ve an appointment with her on May 13th for a follow-up. Of course, I start thinking about bad things. Has my cancer returned?!? Am I no longer in remission?!? What could it be?!? My PSA is at 0.06, which is GREAT!! No cancer still…I’m still in complete remission!! So what is it that caused my Oncologist to call me?!? On February 10th I had a PET Scan that my Oncologist ordered. I’ve a MRI scheduled for March 6th. My Oncologist says all of my labs are GREAT!! Then what is it?!? I’VE A HOLE IN MY HEAD!! PET Scan shows that I’ve a hole in my head over my left ear the size of a golf ball!! WOW!! I’ve a hole in my hole!! Aside from the many jokes about one having a hole in their head, this isn’t really that funny!! I seem to be falling apart!! My Oncologist has ordered an MRI and X-Ray for my head and brain. I’ll try to have that done at the same time that as my other MRI on March 6th. Hopefully the PET Scan machine on February 10th had a hiccup and I don’t have a hole in my head!! Lately, like this week, my head above and back my left ear has been very tender and I do get a sharp pain if I touch a certain part of my head as well as I also experience a very dull headache in this same area of my head!! My eyes seem to flutter and lose focus for a quick split second from time to time. I asked my Oncologist, Dr. Ann Wierman can people live a long life with a hole on their head?!? She said, “Yes!!” Am I alarmed?!? Am I scared?!? Yes, of course, I’m quite concerned!!

Hopefully any new stadium HAS A ROOF on it because playing football in a blizzard north of I-40 can’t be fun at all. Oh, one last thing…seeing that the taxpayers help finance the stadium, shouldn’t the taxpayers get tickets at a much more affordable prices?!? Ticket prices to a Raiders home game in the nose bleed section are, well, STUPID…gouging at its worse.

Color Belt Curriculum Breakdown
sensei8 replied to BrandonH45's topic in Instructors and School Owners
There’s everything about this that I love. Removing redundancy at all costs and by all means. The unfortunate difficulty lies with the overbearing Governing Bodies because they want it their way as though their way is the only way; that’s ridiculous, of course, and that’s why our founder left the Okinawa powers that be. Their way, the Okinawa powers that be, is their way and it never has been the way of our founder, and it’s not my way. I don’t have to tell anybody about the Heisenberg Principle that says the act of observing a phenomenon changes it. -
No bunkai until shodan?
sensei8 replied to Spartacus Maximus's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
The one thing that I always stress to my students is that whatever the techniques found in a Kata, the bunkai isn’t always as one might assume. The Gedan Barai that a white belt might execute in, for example, Taikyoku Shodan, is not always what it appears to be. This is one reason why we teach bunkai starting at Jukyu.
