Gi vs. No-gi Grappling
yingampyang replied to bushido_man96's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
I think that both have great beniefits , one one hand "gi" you can learn each move more slowly and really let it sink in and learn the proper tachnique. And on the other hand we have "no-gi" which is great for the real thing and is much quicker. The best thing to do is get a mixture of both. -

Quickest to Blackbelt status?
yingampyang replied to hawkeyes's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
It all depends on how the school is run , and also if they follow tradional rules. I would say that TKD is a pritty quick style to get your black belt in compared to shotokan or kun-fu -
RIO HEROES :REAL OLD STYLE NHB
yingampyang replied to Rainbow_Warrior's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
They are good fighters and they have the heart, but this does not mean they are the best. And yes ill take any one of them on any day of the week bring it on. -
That is a good question. I have had this same convosation on black belt magazine many times. I think that to become a true martial artist you have to let the art become part of you. And to do this you need years of training. I think that no one should get a black belt untill they have done at least 8 years. I have done kung-fu for over 15 years and yes by now i do think im good. And very happy with my black belt.

yingampyang replied to Throwdown0850's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I have been in many professional fights and also many street fights where this so called heart rate increase happens. No i am not scared because if i am it take the focus off what is happing and what is going on. You need to control the fear dont let it control you. -

Mathematics of Combinations
yingampyang replied to Johnlogic121's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Well in my martial arts years i have done professionally 16 styles , each consisting of say 200 conbinations per certian movement. The more complex the style the more combinations. To remember all of them or too use what is useful that is a personal thing that the fighter him or her self must choses. And if they pick many then they must be ready for the mental and physical chanllege. -
This is true , and there are some situation where a gun can not be used effectivly.

Old martial arts question.
yingampyang replied to yingampyang's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Well i think that i have let you guys think about this for long enough. Now before i give you the answer , this is not my answer or my opinion because the answer is pritty unbeliveable. The old monks and ZEN masters say that "you should be so good at your ZEN that you will doge the person not the bullet." lol well tell me what you guys think about this answer , because when i heard it i was like wah? -
Everyone is entiltled to their own opinion. And what has been said i believed very much soo and i would be on your side if we had this talk say 3 years back. But i have seen some crazy things that people can do with martial arts. People that we dont know anything about , these types of people dont go to school they learn through their famlies and train together in a very closely connected way, which some how dont ask me how because i dont know makes them stronger and quicker than you could imagine. You also have to remember that in UFC there are rules and in touraments their are rules. In REAL LIFE there are no rules. When i see a tourament i see it as practicing for thr real thing. And over in the isloated asian counrties there are people that have killed with their bare hands to survive , and are exsperts in every sense of the word MARTIAL ARTS. Now when i say i can beat "randy", i only say this because i am someone who is very deticated to martial arts and i belive in my skill very much so, and know excatly what im capable of. And i garante that i have either the same or more experience as randy" , but i decided to take a different road.

when not to yell "kiah!"
yingampyang replied to masterintraining's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
hahaha -
Well i dont bluff, so yes i do believe that i can beat randy 8/10 times. Also there are thousands of top martial artists around the world that could put most of the best fighters we know to shame , but they do not believe in touraments or "going pro". What you see on TV and in ruled touraments is childs play compared to the real thing.

becoming more alert and aware...
yingampyang replied to turbo wrx's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Yes i do have some tips, just like the monks the best thing to do is meditate. While doing this ear and feel everything around you and slowly change your environment to be louder , eventually you will be able to pin point exactly where every thing is.
