gold weave's fabric is stronger than single weave, gold is like a double but is as light as a single weave.

I want to buy a Machado one, but don't know if buy a single or a "hybrid" weave. i want it not to tear, but also it be light and not a heavy thing. Here are the link to compare the weave of each one: Single weave: http://store4.yimg.com/I/mkimonos_1719_1498362 Hybrid weave: http://store4.yimg.com/I/mkimonos_1727_14348271

What i can suggest to you, is that roll, roll, and roll The more you spar, you'll be better, at the beginning it's normal you use a resistance by "instinct", but when you are practicing it a lot, and rolling, you will know when to apply some technique as if it would be something natural, by instinct, but you have to practice a lot. -
To Gi or not to Gi, that is the question.
Venezolano replied to thaiboxerken's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i preffer to train without the Gi, because usually you're NOT wearing a Gi all time, you will be more confortable when a real situation presents to you if you are used to train with common clothes. -
Like jiu-jitsu fighter said, i recommend you study bjj too, and/or wrestling, and for stand up, without doubts Muay Thai, it's truly effective
