  1. More importantly, where are you going to hold it?
  2. Welcome and good luck finding a school.
  3. Welcome and good luck.
  4. Welcome and GOGOGO!
  5. Everyone knows that we don't unlock the KI section until you master the triple level 8 blackbelt in the style of the Drunken Grasshopper. You have a long way to go. JerryLove gets the "Trollbuster" credit. http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=186253&highlight=#186253
  6. Hello, I look forward to you sharing your experience.
  7. Welcome to KF! Come back and introduce yourself!
  8. Parkerlineage, could you explain the second degree jr. black belt? When you take your adult test, what rank will you be?
  9. Too bad that common sense is not common practice. If I only had a nickel for every time I said that one... I wonder if everyone who drove a car suddenly were given nunchakus if the accident rate while driving a car and swinging nunchakus would make either activity inherently more dangerous...and you think that talking on a cell phone was bad...could you imagine? Sorry. I just couldn't help myself.
  10. If I follow the logic then soon we will have human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, and mass hysteria! And I thought the evil circus clowns were a problem. Sheesh.
  11. Amen!
  12. Wow! Was that a kid he did the sweep to? Geesh. Where did you find this guy?
  13. Thanks.
  14. Agreed. Besides, this kid cannot give legal consent.
  15. Hmmm, the term child endangerment comes to mind.
  16. OK, we are up and running. Again, we were on the south side of the eye wall and experienced some 90+ mph winds. Luckily this storm blew through quickly with only 6 hours of hurricane force winds. Since the ground was saturated from Frances we did get some flooding with about 8 inches of rain in 24 hours. The eye of Jeanne hit landfall only two miles from Frances. My power just got turned on. It helps being on the same grid as a fire station and a water treatment plant as the power company always restores these grids first along with the hospitals. I am grateful that we only lost a few roof tiles. It could have been a lot worse and it was for those people just north of the eye. Hopefully we are done for the season.
  17. OK guys, I'm hunkered down ready to ride out yet another hurricane to hit Florida. I will probably be "off the air" for a few days so I expect everyone to keep this place going. We are forecast to get the southern eye wall to pass over my area again(remember Frances). This time the storm is moving faster but it is a lot stronger. I really hope that this storm starts to turn. We are looking at landfall at 2 am tonight. Red J out.
  18. Yikes, therapy at five? Sounds like a parenting problem to me or some real serious issues beyond the scope of simply enrolling him into the little ninjas society. I agree with you that MA is not the best choice for every child. Perhaps a family counselor is in order.
  19. Its kind of like Yogi Bera's quote "Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical." Well he got the 90% mental part right anyway. I think the same concept applies to the street. You can be proficient and know what to do, but the person that has the street mentality has an edge on the street.
  20. Good points here. I would try to respond with a defensive manuever followed quickly with an offensive response to neutralize the attack. Of course the response depends on numerous factors that have been mentioned by the other posters. The thing that I see as crucial is to end it immediately as WW said. The longer it goes the more chance for injury.
  21. OK. Back in college we used to have a saying, "Every girl has a boyfriend until she has a new boyfriend". Just because she has one, doesn't mean you can't hang out with her unless she is giving you a clear indication that she doesn't want you to. Besides, chances are that she has friends, friends that you may want to meet. The girls in the engineering department are tough cookies from what I've heard being outnumbered by sometimes 8 to 1. If you want to increase your odds take an elective course like something in education or psychology. You will find that the numbers will work in your favor. Of course you could stoop to the lowest trick in the book by buying a medical lab coat, check out a medical book from the library, and hang out in front striking up conversations pretending that you a med student. Of course, if you don't have a medical college on your campus you could attract only the brightest of coeds. My advice, be yourself and don't worry too much. It will happen when you least expect it.
  22. Yes, you can. Keep on it and you will start seeing results. You didn't get out of shape in a month and you won't get in shape in a month. Look at it as a lifestyle choice and soon you will start reaping the benefits. Good luck and train hard. PS - You might want to increase the cardio to more than 15 minutes as you are essentially just warming up. You need to get your heart rate up to get some cardio benefit. Once you get your heart rate up you get into the training state, you start to burn calories and build cardiovascular endurance. This usually occurs after the first five minutes of exercise. Your heart rate needs to be at an approximate range of 110-165 beats per minute depending on your age. Check out this link for your range. http://www.active.com/calculators/heartrate_calc_togo.cfm
  23. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  24. I think I saw that happen to Sponge Bob once. Yeah, I don't recommend the ice bath. Too cold. Brrrr.
