  1. Board breaking?! What is this lark. I would use some sort of power saw myself. The AIKI POWER SAW OF DEATH technique. I can cut whole forests down with that one... Mwhahahahaha
  2. One would imagin that is what a night stick is for.
  3. You go girl!
  4. Most good Judoka, CAN USE THE TECHNIQUES to there MOST EFFECTIVE abilities. Sorry was I shouting. I think judoka and the same goes for any style, moves slightly differently. So the movement always become personalised.
  5. Matburn, you are soo well informed. Its truely amazing. (sarcasm mode off)
  6. Amen Kirves Nothing in Karate is "pre-arranged". There is no point pre arranging anything. Only useless usually "western" sensei teach kata as a series. Its not, its merely a reference for hundreds of techniques. The reason that Kata excist in the first place, is because each individual move could not be written down, due to the fact that the ruling Samurai did not want the people of the Ryukyu (Okinawa) to practice Karate (well at that time it was called Kempo).
  7. G'day
  8. So was TKD. I dont think the south Korean Army is a breeze, nor was REAL TKD and about 10% of TKD dojang.
  9. Kyle-San, monkeygirl does TKD, so thats why is probably rips.
  10. Very true wise master.
  11. I disagree, yea sure it does not happen that often at the moment. But NO style is Mcdojo prof. At the rate Roron(sp) Gracie is commercialising BJJ its going to happen. And at any rate, BB given to ANYONE that does not deserve them whether they are 6 or 26 makes it a mcdojo. Oh and about MT I know they dont have belts, but they do have recognition of skill, and this is what can become mcdojoised. If MT goes to the Olympics then that record of un-mcdojoisation is gone.
  12. Hey again insanity..... You will soon relise that Aikido is probably not a Martial Art. And in some cases it is not. You should not resist in Aikido, for the simple reason that Aikido is about non-resistance. This is one of the most powerful lessons learnt in Aikido. Why do we not resist? 1. You are new to Aikido Insanity and you would not be able to get it to work against a resisting attacker.........yet. 2. Aikido, whether you like it or not is about Harmony, and hurting people is un-harmonous. 3. To better understand the nature of attacking energy, you need to first need to understand how to redirect it and you cant do that if someone is hanging on to you with all their strength. There is no problem in question Aikido methods, in fact I am all for it. But you gonna have to stick at it a lot longer to figure it all out. The attacks were never ment to be realistic, but they show you the nature of attacking energy. Once you can control that then the attack itself does not matter.
  13. Thats a worry JJ fighter. But i think that ALL systems have this problem from TKD to Mauy Thai. These "Sensei" tar the name of MA by giving these kids BB's that could not fight there way out of wet paper bag. Its not just a TKD problem, mcdojo's or black belt factories are a problem with every MA.
  14. G'day!
  15. Hmm....... Lets hope not, even in that article you sent me the BJJ Sensei are very gentle with new comers. For example, if you came to my Aikido dojo, I would ripe you limb from limb unless I came down to your level. In the same way that you would make short work of me if I came to a BJJ class. But if people want to get the basics, then you have to let them learn. I think violence has no place in the dojo, only hard work, techniques and power. Just in MHO ofcourse.
  16. The face, its one load of nerves and blood vessels. Just smack it with your whole fore arm (Te-Gatana). And thats about that.
  17. I am sorry for the grave dishonour I have brought about your style and weapon of choice, I offer my life as the only penance I can pay for such a travasty. *Commits Subuku!*
  18. G'day
  19. Thanks JJ fighter, I really excellent article and I agree with it all whole heartedly. BJJ is Aikido, but on the floor. I have heard very similar stories, and this is why I am doing Judo. As its the closest I am going to get to BJJ and I love the Japanese arts. Thanks for the article, I will read it again soon. Chris.
  20. I believe this guy, I mean WOW! 15 people, thats easy, I took that number on in my first lesson. Tsk tsk you guys.
  21. G'day!
  22. I dont think all BJJers think that way, although perhaps some do. I know some Aikidoka think that ALL other MA both Modern and Traditional are ugly and graceless. (I was one of these people). However, only when you fight your own ignorance do you really start to understand the true mean of Martial arts. After all we are only human, and people can have their opinions on different styles. To be honest, I think having this "my style is better" attitude can be a good thing. When it come down to the crunch, the last thing you want on your mind is doubt. Oh and after reading your lengthy reply Kirves, I do agree again.
  23. I am really jealous, I wanna play the Samurai game. This serious MA stuff really sucks, lets just all get together with foam swords and go at it. But I'll only play if I can be a Samurai. Submissionfighter and Tobias have to be an evil ninja, but because Tobais does Kobudo, he cant have a sword, but perhaps a little foam gardening spade would be better for him. I am so funny somtimes. No problem Monkeygirl, anytime. Bull dog is really great fun, it would be even more fun with foam swords.
