  1. One you forgot, (my favorite one) is the handstand pushups. Great for shoulder strength.
  2. See, (after you reach 65) if you can get it to 100. This would be a big accomplishment, because i seem to have found a sticking point at 85.
  3. from the body description i'd say judo.
  4. This has been posted before. That said, I think Okinawan styles would beat Japanese styles because they flow better and make combinations. More grappling too.
  5. Shorin ryu is about 80% hard, 20% soft, Goju is about 50/50. I have always liked Shorin ryu and in the material I have learned a bunch of wrist locks & armbars, take downs, and of course a bunch of strikes. I have been doing it for 2 and 1/2 years and am learning more stuff faster the longer I stay in. (edited for spelling)
  6. Karate has finess, depending on the school can have realistic application, and has weapons training, so you better go with Kenpo I geuss.

    Darn, I guess not.
  8. Lethalo can get it's ass kicked by yellow bamboo!
  9. Go to the kempo. I understand why you are sad to leave, but you can't stop competing because you're at a school with soft, lazy students!
  10. If your real big on competition, go with TKD. If your more on the serious side, go with the Karate. But make sure to see if both instructors are good first-watch a few classes. By the way, what style of Karate is it?
  11. I think Karate is more based on power than wing chun. Knockdown fighters, full contact fighters, or heavy contact fighters from Karate would probably win because they know how to use it's power well. But from TKD, the lower kicks in wing chun would be faster than the high kicks from TKD, and more direct and not so flashy, so TKD would lose.

How does this circuit work? Is it an open tourny or does it have qualifications? What are it's rules, and does it have prize money or a grading system? Thanx
  13. Thanks so much for your wise insight.
  14. Maybe they could if they were still in they're prime. They kinda retired from serious competition you know.
  15. If you're really training hard, take in 3000 calories a day. 60% complex carbs, 30% protien, 10% fat. Drink about twelve glasses of water a day. This is only if you train hard enough to sweat ALOT, burn ALOT of calories, an put on ALOT of muscle. Also, when you drink the water after a really intense workout, put a little salt to replace electrolytes and a little table suger to replace glycogen levels.
  16. Men are naturally way stronger than women, and faster, tougher, more aggresive, and have much more potential than women, but if a woman works Much harder than a man, and overcomes these bariers, they can still become very good. I dont have a problem sparring girls, I just avoid punching the boobs, cause I here it feels like a kick in the nuts.
  17. I don't mean to try to make a living at it, just make enough money to pay for learning martial arts, it would kinda be like free lessons.
  18. Thanks for the advice. I need all the help I can get.
  19. I have decided to do some research for when I get out of high school. Does anyone have information about MMA cometitions contracts? I would like to start out with smaller comps to get my foot in the door for bigger things.
  20. Hmmmmm, a half @$$ muay thai school or a shorin ryu school you seem to really like. Decisions decisions. I think I'd go with the Karate. I thought you'd like it.
  21. Interesting outlooks and comparison of alot of arts.
  22. Oh, you'r doing that tonight? Good, I think you'll like it. I always have. I'm going tonight actually.
  23. Do pushups. When you do them, push as hard as you can to make your upper body jump off the floor as high as you can. This will develope the explosive power needed for the punches. for the kicks, do jumper squats.
  24. I'd pance him and show not only did he have a white belt, but also a white butt.
  25. A six pack is all about looks, right? Well I don't think a woman with low enough fat to get a six pack sounds very sexy. I mean boobless and knotty? I think it looks better for them to have curves if you know what I mean. It's only normal. I have a six pack naturally, and I don't know many girls that get six packs by accident, so it is definitely easier for boys than girls.
