  1. I think you should get a black belt in Judo and maintain your skills in that while you start Karate.
  2. Yeah, your right, Karate would dominate.
  3. Why would you care if the nerves were dead? That's the way it is with any conditioning of a body part. It just means they are getting tougher.
  4. Mine teaches Bo, nunchucu, coma, tonfa, and sai.
  5. Karate has a better cardio aspect, so that's better.
  6. I just watched a K-1 tonight. Great fights.
  7. In Traditional Karate, there is a multitude of joint manipulation, A moderate amount of throws, and a lot of striking. The ground fighting is slight and hidden. Judo has very little striking, a lot of ground fighting. A vast amount of throws, and some joint manipulation.
  8. Hitting trees with your shin is a big no-no. Fill a canvas bag with sand, prop it against the tree, and kick that. If you punch trees, make sure they're only a few inches think and soft wood so it;s springy.
  9. Well, I think I would rate him as in the top five, if not #1.
  10. I just dug a whole about a cubic foot in size, filled it with cement and stabbed a board into it. Wrapped rope around the board for padding.
  11. Just a quick question, is the side kick nonexistant or just rarely used in Muay Thai?
  12. (Bench press) Find a weight you can manage for 6 reps. Do it for three sets, with one minute rest in between. Keep working like this every other day, until you can do it for eight reps all three sets. Then add ten pounds and start over. Do 3 sets of pushups to failure on the bench press days. This will work for you. As for the ankle weights, only kick very slowly in and out to protect you're joints.
  13. Telson-anyone can call themself a christian, but to be correct, you have to believe Jesus died for sins, and rose, and ask for forgiveness. (John 3:16) And also, whether it is an escape from reality or not, it doesen't hurt to stay out of hell. (and, on a positive note, go to heaven.)
  14. You're some kinda moron to think no one used elbows before muay thai. It is in Karate, which is ancient, and in Kung fu, also ancient, and tae kwon do got it from karate or tae kyon, not muay thai. Just because you take muay thai, doesn't mean it is the only fighting style out there.
