  8. after you smash them for a while then it doesn't hurt anymore depends on how much you use shin blocks, i find them to be super effective. im 130 pounds and can take hard kicks from some big dudes. but in our school we use our legs to block a kick more than we do our arms.

  13. my teacher has always told us that at black belt is just a person who has good control of there body and has put in the time to learn the basics
  14. oh sorry. yeah i passed, it was a real challenge
  15. twice a week is a happy medium
  16. shorin ryu is a very good style to take, i like matsumura seito or the kenshin kan styles
  17. i like the turtle masterline gloves there really good for sparring in class and they provide alot of protection to your opponent
  18. a better way to break through a guard is to push down on the inner thigh until it breaks and quickly move your knee onto it and then over putting you in a half guard. after that repeat on the other side and you will have a full mount. im not sayin that you will totally eliminate the chance of the triangle, but it my experience it helped alot.
  19. in our school we have classes with all ranks, but there are also classes set aside for different ranks to learn more advanced techniques
  20. practice like crazy, until when they are called out you cab do them without thinking about it
  21. it went really good, i sparred my teacher and it was crazy, he told me he would be fighting different and he did. he rung my bell a few times but it all went well
  22. i started because the rest of my family did, but i stay in it because i love it. if i'm bored there is nothing i would rather do than run through all of my katas, or practice walking drills.
  23. they stand in the regular rank order
  24. white belt is a good time unless your instructor says otherwise. there should be no shame in losing or making a mistake, it is all a learning experience
