football is so over-rated in young people, if only your son stuck with it. well you never know he might get back into it. i am the only person in my family that trains, although my bro did kung fu and kickboxing for a while
it does when you are a less experienced grappler. i understand that when you get more advanced you can use there weight to your advantage and all that but this is speaking from my point of view. im interested in how a more experienced grappler would take it on a big heavy street guy?
oow id definitly go with the first school. those are 3 arts that go very well together, but if i were you go see the classes and go meet the instructors.
the RICE method. Rest it Ice it Compression, keep pressure on it Elevation, could be hard with a hand. basically strap an ice pack on it and dont go punching things for a while.
i am a grappler ok not a very good one and im pretty damn small but still IMO its better to stay on your feet and say give them a good punch then roll on the floor where your very vulnerable to say someone who is a full foot taller (im only 5 2").
nice thread! let get stuck in..... i love everything about TKD! its my favourite art. i dont care if people say patterns are "pointless" (which i dont agree) because i love doin them anyway. i love the sparring and ive learnt so much from the instructor. im not scared any more when i spar (well most of the time). and i know exactly how you feel, when we start the hour of warm up and stretching i just wanna smile. i have so much to learn about TKD and i just love it. p.s. and having 2 kick-ass instructors helps to.
