yeah i know what you mean, there is power in open hand stuff but i personally find that punching is better (atleast for now). still love my open hand stuff though -

id go check out all the schools and have a look at a class before deciding where to go. look at how well the students are using technique and how well they seem to know what the teacher is talking about. -

knife hand strikes can be used instead of hooks and still have tonnes of power behind them. i like to use them to targets like the jaw, temple and neck. a few weeks back i saw a guy wearing a gum sheild get his tooth knocked out by a guy wearing hand pads, the guy had landed a reverse knife hand. -
i agree that mauy thai fighters do have amazingly powerful kicks but thats got nothin to do with where they kick with. at TKD we kick with the ball of our foot and sometimes with the instep but this doesnt mean our kicks dont do any damage. ive seen someone break 4 boards with the ball of there foot. lets not make this thread into anymore of an arguement.

umm can i sort something out, hemp and the cannabis that people smoke are not the same thing, yes they come from the same plant but the part of the plant that is used as "hemp" contains no THC so it wont get you "high". can we try and keep the convosation off "hemp" and about smoking cannabis. thanks

well after your first class you will be able to see the exercises that your instructor uses and this can help you make a deigion. i personally like to have a good stretch in the morning followed by somethings some pushups and situps, that kinda thing...
