  3. LOL yea but seriously when it comes to weapons they wont be learned properly quickly they take awhile in order to get the basics but its is also said that weapons are taught after initial body movement because they invovle that same movements its just an extension of your own body

  7. the hardest part to me is learning to teach i was always more of a fighter then teacher when it came to Martial Arts (me like hitting things) when i am put on the spot to teach im like man i want to be there but i have to observe. My sensei though gave me good advice "it shouldnt be a burden but and oppurtunity to see what you have to work on in a higher level"
  8. Eagle Claw from what i remeber has alot of ripping attacks and can be linier or circular and like alot of kung fu needs extrem flexibility Jet li does it in the Movie "the One"
  9. there are styles of Kung fu that are kick oriented
  10. lol its sad i just hung up a news paper biography of bruce lee in my cubicle
  11. When your attackers are determined to injure you, no one can fight against 4 people at once. Anyone who claims they can is trying to make a quick buck against you. Let anyone who makes this claim stand up in public and openly demonstrate it. Helio Gracie is old too- granted hes not fighting, but he did, and so are his students, his sons, and his relatives. As far as not having anything to prove, thats apparently not the case if everyone is questioning their abilities. Everyones ability gets questioned from time to time. You could argue that Royce didnt have to fight after UFC 1 - what did he have to prove? But people kept asking what if this and what if that, so he kept fighting, so that there would be no question that his wins were by no means accidental. The highest form of a warrior is one who fights the best. Philosophy is great, but the best fighter is the one who beats all the others. Some people are fighters, others are not. They're not fighting because they're trying to prove something to someone else- they're fighting to prove to themselves time and time again. If you have the personality of a fighter, then theres nothing wrong with fighting. If you dont, theres nothing wrong with not fighting, but dont try to make yourself look better than those who prefer to do it. Another thing to take into account here is experience- just like any other physical activity, experience plays a crucial role, so if you've never tested your abilities, you're going to have a much lesser chance than someone else who has. What can be more important to being a fighter than learning how to fight? You're starting to enter the realm of philosophy, and philosophy governs morals, not physical fighting skills. ok ppl have a general misconception between warrior and fighther a fighter is what the named implys they live for the fight a warrior picks his fights the Spartans were the best warrior out there but they did got out to fight all the time no it was the gladiators who who fight one spartan general even admitted he did like constant conflict even though they were some of the most vicious warriors out there this misconception was bought about i wont name the groups that wanted togloritized them selves when they are really Gladiators/Fighters those ppl live for the fight P.s you can fight 4 ppl easy fist you get a gun with 4 or more bullets and boom there you go but seriously i saw a friend of my fight 4 guys succesfully
  12. ooo ilike that one jiffy i like your workout toby hope u do mind if i try it out
  13. its hard to deffinatly not kendo, Kenjutsu and iado dont really have forms cause they are ment for killing i say your best bet is to combine the two cause iado looks absolutely beautiful when done right especially in japan but alot of sword stuff is also quick and efficient and demo for this stuff consist mostly on cutting bamboo and straw
  14. I agree with Menjo techinique is suppose to bring about both results but for the sake of the poll (closes eyes and randomly points) speed
  15. Thats good it always warms my heart when i hear someone pass a test but im just a big psychotic soffie
  16. oh i must of read it wrong my bad
  17. i believe in pressure point fighting but the way Dillman from what i see is going about it wrong in alot of internal martial arts i belive the chi knock out that dillman does is only used when there is an opening so unless this guy is super fast in a real fight against a trained fighter would have litte application
  18. Ok MMA fighters are good Brawlers and a good number could handle themselves in a street fight but they are fighters from my experiences in a neighborhood with 4 differnet gangs in it some things mma do or claim about most fights going into ground fighting in partly true the so called ground fighting is ground and pound the problem in the streets with grappling is that its hard to fight the other 4 guys with weapons (gangstas are wusses)another point thrown out here is that MMa are great fighters and will challenge anyone, well the reason grandmasters of arts like Karate, kungfu, and etc. dont challenge them is that one they r to old, fight really dirty, and really dont feel like they have anything to prove the highest form of a warrior is to realize that you dont have to fight when its not affecting ppls lives and well being, Musashi came to this realization in his life later on and told his two adopted sons this and even started using Bokkens instead of real swords and out manuvered his opponents alot of past masters folled this trend of peacefulnesss alot became priest ive and seen street fights and dont get me wrong i love the feeling of my fist forceing someone's skull to hit the ground but in the bigger scope of the warrior there are other things to focus on and percive. now be for i get bum rushed for my oppinons i also think that effectiveness of fighting also involves the enviorment, situation, what personally people are good at like me im a far better street/combat fighter than tournament fighter
  19. Streching helps develop kicking power tremenduosly punching can be developed by proper body alingment speed and technique

  22. Wat are you lookig to do cause there are three sub categories of japanese sword man ship there is kendo-the sport, kenjutsu cuting ppl in half with minimal energy, and iado that are of drawing the sword and from there it depends how you want to apply it in tournaments
  23. Yea all of the suggestions i got from everyone help me have confidence in being a bb i had my first teaching session last week man that is a hard thing to do especially when you have a dojo full of newbies who are cocky coming from a vastly different style of martial arts and even worst im not build imtimadating (that is untill im about to throw a punch and they scream in terror) and i have to do it again today but at least the other bb and my sensei are supporting me
  24. There are three main groups that teach traditional ninpo taijutsu and weapons the first is the Bujinkan, the second in Jinekan, and the third is Genbukan and they were spys You do know they were more then just spies, right? I don't want to point out the obvious but, Mercinaries, Body Guards, rescued hostages, etc. well you gave me two chioces to pick from as to what they were closest to so i picked spy but spys also do those things too in special forces in General you have to know all of this
