Hmmm well in our dojo we are not taught hyper commited attacks ppl let their attacks hang out so ther other person can have time to practice their tech also there is a form of sparring but honestly alot of the techs u dont and cant use in sparring weapons is principle based on the idea anything can be a weapon Bujinkan isnt ninjutsu its 9 koryu combined we do have grappling in the bujinkan standing and ground fighting
Usally when i tell people i took kung fu they assk what style and i tell then or when i ask they tell me the style and teacher so to me that kinda unusal
racism shouldnt even be thought of in martial arts most of the senior students in my dojo including me are spanish/African decent in fact in our style (Bujinkan Budo taijutsu) i believe we make up the percentage of those groups but the Japanese teachers really like our dojo to them it doesnt matter as long as you really want to learn i believe it should be like that in all martial arts
At most from what a friend showed me of fencing footwork wise you can use it with the katana but actual application with the sword at most you can understand the thrusting and stabbing motions but even so not as much there are probaly kenjutsu videos you can buy for this
