I started when I was 24 (turned 25 sortly after). It took me longer to get flexible than the youngins, but I did it. At 15, I think that is a good age. I agree with CheekyMusician.

I do a cross between a backstance and a walking stance, kind of like a upright backstance. It just feels natural and I can move quickly.

I been to three clubs. My first was cool. Good for self defense .... I thought. Second one, not my style. Over priced and not enough self defense. This one is great. Lots of self defense and a great workout. I get my money's worth. Very rare for TKD schools here, but this place rocks!

I don't agree with that. You are entitled to your opinion, but that statement is not totally true. Some TKD schools, it is true, but not all

$135 a month. That's for me and my nephew. I payed $80 for myself alone. The more people from a family that go, the more discounts you get. I pay $50 for my nephew.

I go three to four times a week for an hour. I do Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan.

To update my last post (I swithched schools since then). My school is the traditional style TKD (TKD MDK). Eventhough we are affiliated with the WTF, we are definitely not sport. And yes, I can again trace my instuctor all the way back to Hwang Kee. I feel better now LOL.

People bash TKD, because they THINK it's all sport. That might be all they see. But schools like mine, we learn so much more. People are suprised when they watch a class. We do throws, joint locks, ect. We even grapple! Not all TKD schools are sport.

My instructor isn't Korean, but he is one of the best in my area. He was taught by a Korean instructor . The nationality of the instructor shouldn't matter. But if you tell us what area you live in, we can try to look it up.

For me, yes I'd strike back ..... then again, I am a woman. But for me, no matter what gender the attacker is, I would match force with force. If it's some loud mouth "cat fighting" chic, I'd just restrain her, and hold her there still she gets tired of trying to get out of the hold. Then I'd sit her down LOL. If it's a woman with a weapon, I would definitely fight for my life, and/or run.
