  1. My dojang is having a Christmas party. We will have a "dinner" (the pot-luck type), and entertainment (prolly a comedian or something). Since it's at the dojang, no drinking, except for soda, water, juice, ect. My dojang also holds an awards banqet. Which is usually at a restaruant of some sort, and the adults are allowed to drink. There's usually a DJ, dancing, ect. That's after Christmas break.
  2. I did. Did ya get my message? If not, I'll re-send it.

  4. So true, Molson. Specially #2. I watch a MA film and scream at the TV, don't do that, or that was fake, or that's not possible (like flying), ect LOL.
  5. I totally agree, ramymensa. I am the same way. Martial arts, to me, is a way of life. If I don't go to class or miss a class (usually because of work), I feel "weird." It's hard to explain. Freestyler, you were saying something about negative energy. If you don't pay any mind to it, it'll pass. Like Kenpo123 said, keep thinking positive. It's hard to do at times, but don't let negative feelings (people, words, ect) bring you down. Kickchick, I do have to say that I am a perfectionist when it comes to technique, in MA that is. I am really big on technique. I think that came from my TSD instructor. He would always drill us on technique. But yet, if someone notices that something needs improvement and shows me, I don't get upset. I suck up the advice like a sponge. But in daily life, I'm pretty laid back. I try to do well in what ever I do, but if I don't, that's ok, too. I'll try again.
  6. My wish is for everyone to have safe and happy Holidays I wish even the poor can have a good Christmas (donate to needy families this Holiday).
  7. Music, music and more music! I used to play drums, still "fiddle" with the guitar, and have a huge CD collection I love going to concerts, and going out to see a good local band. And I can say that I'm slowly becoming a computer geek LOL. I do have this hidden love for writing. I didn't want to admit it till I wrote something for KF. It's starting to come out now
  8. OMG!!! Me???? I am so suprised! Kickchick is the big poster! This takes me back to the award I got in 8th grade for writing the best essay. I do have to thank Kickchick and G95 for their help in the past. They did help with me growing as a martial artist in the past 9 months on KF. That led to me writing that article. Patrick, they should get a award, too Thanks all. Bows respectfully

YOu must be taught by a person but once you have a understanding of how things work then you can learn.> I agree with G on this one. I personally believe for a true beginner, it's not a good idea to teach yourself. But if you know the basics in one art, you can pick up on the differences quickly and learn them. I am studying Thai boxing on my own, but with two and a half years of "basic training" in MA, I can pick up the differences and learn them. I am no where near black belt in TKD, but I have enough training in the basics to learn something similar to it. But if I learned something like judo or something from a book, I'd be totally lost.
  10. As far as posts, yes Seriously, I did get that dang Gateway error messege. I couldn't get to KF for about 4 days
  11. ramymensa, you are right. Thanks to my TSD instructor, I CAN do those high flying fancy kicks I thought I could never learn pyung ahn ee dan (you know it as hiein nidan), but again, he said "you can do it if you try." Now it's still my favorite form to this day (and I do TKD now). He was like a big brother to me. I do visit him (and work out) when I visit home (NJ).
  12. That's an idea, Patrick. Tuesday is my day, but I'll prolly write one or two more articles a week if needed (eventhough it won't be my day). Just to help out a little

My instructor hates her, but I guess because her mom pays for the lessons, she thinks she should be there I just can't wait for her to get to the Master instructor's class ..... she'll never last He's very tough. Then again, her brother also takes class with her, but he is a good kid. He is really into it.
  14. Me Me Me! Oh, wait. I did that already ..... Seriously. If no one else comes forward, I'll pick up another day if I can. Lemme know
  15. I think in my case, it's miscommunication sometimes. Like dates for tests and stuff. My instructor is bad with dates, so I ask the girls working at the desk, because they are usually accurate.
  16. I'll give you one example that makes me mad. There is this one 14 year old girl (I won't mention her name). She likes to "play around" in class. She doesn't listen well. She back-talks the instructors. But yet, she tries to tell ME about my technique. I wouldn't mind it so much if she actually had any kind of technique. One day, I told her "Don't worry about me till you get your technique straight." Funny thing is, I didn't get in trouble for saying that by my instructor (I thought I was going to get hammered). I just learned that she got her stripes taken away (she was my rank) and her parents got a "talking" to. So, She is definitely not a model student. She hasn't talked to me lately, so I guess she figured out that I was right.
  17. Sheesh, I wanted to wait till I was a 4th dan for my own dojang. Anyways, if I was a potental student of his, I would look up his credentials, anyways. Just spread the word.
  18. Wait till the shoot fighter is committed to the "shoot" then jump, turn around and kick him on the butt LOL. Joke. I have no clue. I never saw or faught a shoot fighter, but I have heard of it.
  19. Do you mean in Martial Arts? If so, I say I'm around a 4. But it's getting better. I have a lot of power, though
  20. I'm one of the quilty ones Kickchick And a girl named Deb also As for who started the most topics, that I don't know
  21. I am a female, but I don't have that problem (I wish). My cycle is right on time, exactly 30 days apart (runs in the family). I know if I don't get mine, something IS wrong. But, I get cramps from ...... I know that can't be normal, either. Of course, I don't eat like I should, either (lots of fatty stuff). Kickchick tried to help me eat right before by givin me advice, but ..... I may need your help again, Kickchick
  22. Oops. I should have used spell check. But you understood, Blade LOL. Thanks
