  1. In arm/Knee bars the knee/elbow joints are being hyper extended. Thats the best I can do
  2. Jason is fighting in the next PRIDE on newyears day
  3. If you get put in a choke it is better to tap than get choked out. One thing that helped me was not looking at tapping as giving up, look at it as if you are giving the other guy a pat on the back for a job well done. It is scary the first time you get choked out, its like you keep struggling to get free and get blood or air back to your head but there is realy no hope.
  4. It would not have been so bad if I had class more than twice a week.
  5. Thats awsome, I'd love to go train with Eddie.
  6. I could not get out of the house even to get to the neartest gym because I live out in the country. but I'm not that worried any more because I'm pretty sure the weather was too bad for anyone to get out.
  7. I missed class last night due to being snowed in and i am realy ticked off. I am mad because I hate not being able to train and also because I was extremly borred. I ended up lying around all day and watching old PRIDE and UFC dvd's. So I guess what I;m trying to get at is what do you do when you have to miss class
  8. Comming from other forms of grappling defintly helps in BJJ
  9. Yeah, that dude is pretty funny. My friend won his fight last week in the third round by a forearm choke from side control that he "invented" his opponet was realy gassed though, so I think thats the only reason he tapped. But Justin had dominated the fight, so it realy did not matter, even if the guy would have gotten out of the choke the judges would have given Justin the fight
  10. Are you THE ADONIS who is also on the Underground Forum, if so what was the magic weight?
  11. Yeah, everyone in our school who competes does both Gi and No-Gi.
  12. I still think people should train in both, especialy since BJJ players usualy compete in both Gi and No-Gi
  13. Many Abu-Dahbi champions train the majority of the time with a Gi
  14. I think it all boils downt to your preference, if you like Gi competition, train with a Gi, if you like No-Gi competition train with the Gi less but dont totaly exclude.
  15. Happy Thanksgiving
  16. Yeah, that class was awsome, and it was pretty funny
  17. Fedor is probably #1 but I also like Matt Hughes
  18. Dear Santa, I want the Braziian fightwear grappling shorts, the ones Paulao Filho wore in the Pride FC, and the 2005 Abu Dahbi world championships DVD set.
  19. I like agressive music like God Smack, Clutch, Fuel etc on the mat. The best though was a couple months ago in class we were listening to an 80's station and we ended up rolling to Mr. Roboto! best training song ever. ha ha
  20. In my class we use sticks & knives primarily but sometimes we have a little fun and see what we can do with a jacket or shoe against a knife or other weapon
  21. He fights for Elite Cage Fighting he said this will probably his last amature fight before going pro. I don't know about hook n shoot. His fight is at the state fairgrounds December third I just had my second competition saturday (Gi only), I did crappy, got tapped twice, but learned from my mistakes. At my first one I got second in Gi and third no-gi.
  22. I plan on getting a few more years of jiu-jitsu and JKD under my belt, I'm only 17 now so I'm not in a big hurry maybe 2008
  23. My instructor tends to prefer the Gi, but most of us train without the Gi after class especialy if there is a no-gi or MMA fight comming up.
  24. Hope so, there is a blue belt in class who fights amature, but he is going pro soon. He dominated his last fight in Indy, and is fighting again december third so we are helping him train after class and it took some getting used to but now I like training MMA
  25. This guy has great stand up though, he is realy helping me with my endurance.
