  5. but they guy I was just talking about practiced very different styles, like wing chun, karate, escrima ,jiu-jiutsu,and so forth
  6. I know one thats straight from the shaolin temple, but before i go there if i do i have to see how my schedule is going to be with college and work(haven't started either yet) https://www.shaolinusa.com

  10. I have a heavy everlast bag and it's never given me anyh problems,u probably have a deffective bag
  11. I havent experienced any yet,but I've heard that the schools in chinatown over here won't accept u that easily. At first it will be kinda awkward for them but after a while the get used 2 u and become friends (considering youre not asian)
  12. so do u guys think that i should go to school for this or just buy a video on it.Because I kinda think it's a waste of money to pay some teacher to teach u how to meditate when u can just do it at home.I'd rather pay them to teach me martial arts.(just my opinion)
  13. doesn't martial arts give u physical strength and endurance anyways?
  14. well a friend of mine that practices northern shaolin told me some things about it.He said that it's so that your body gets callus on it so your body becomes rock hard. With this u wont feel as much pain when hit and if youre really callused up u wont be hurt that bad when stabbed. Also if u hit somebody they will feel as if they have been hit with a rock. And to get there he said that u practice hitting objects and u get hit with sticks to condition your body
  15. the media gives martial arts a reputaion for making it either look like all crazy stunts or some mystical thing of the east
  16. doesnt martial arts kinda give u these same benefits anyway?
  17. so are u saying u could bench more by doing chi kung?
  18. are there any websites on the subject that u recomend and is it only practiced in europe?
  19. so how should your body be positioned?feet close together or spread apart?where should u put the hand not in motion?

  21. My girlfriend speaks fluent Korean, and she said Tang Soo means hand chop. Do in Japanese means way. Since TKD has Shotokan influences, although most Koreans will not admit it, I'm guessing they borrowed DO from the Japanese. so if "do" is japanese why do other non japanese styles have it.Example Jeet Kune Do
  22. true, but these instructors are from the shaolin temple so shouldn't they teach all the applications it has?
  23. how come thai is the only popular one of these if they are all very similar?nobody ever hears about the other ones
