sounds cool have you ever used it effectively? -
So if you do Matt Fureys exercise you get strength and endurance, but you also get bulk am I right? Anyway this is my schedule: First I start by warming up for 10 minutes, and doing a really quick and light stretch for 5 minutes. Then I work on different techniques. I practice developing my reflexes 3 times a week. I do different strength exercises like push ups(lots of variety), crunches, hindu squats, and anything strength related i can think of at that moment. After that I do endurnace stuff, like jump roping for 30 minutes, running for 10 minutes, and working on footwork for about 10 minutes. Once I'm all done and happy I cool down by taking a walk outside for about 30 minutes, then I come back in and end by doing a light stretch and taking a shower. at night i sometimes do yoga or chi gong, but only once in a while. Three times a week I do stretching for 30 minutes.. not juts warm up stretching but the kind where you focus on flexibility. but i hate stretching though.

Look at this thing from different angle - every1 who speaks about "internal" staff all the time mentions health and long life. If you look at masters in so called "external" arts area, you can see that many of them lived long lives, just like masters from "internal" area. Some died young, from both sides, but in general picture is the same, so what's the matter? ------------------------- pracitcing qi gong, tai chi, bagua and a few other internal arts can heal a lot of injuries, allow your body to heal quicker, and make you more immunue to diseases not to mention a bunch of other benefits(like not needing as much clothing in the winter)... as for longetivity you could probably live long by doing internal or external as long as you live healthy. internal arts i think can also reduce arthritis so it's good for older people too.. But i don't think aikido has huge healing benefits though??? I'm not sure about this. i think it's best to practice both external and internal.

Uniforms in Public Schools Or No Uniforms?
rabid hamster replied to BlueDragon1981's topic in General Chat
I don't think making people wear something they don't want will help anyone... Maybe a few losers here and there, but that's it. The majority of people I know hates it, even people that are bullyed by others don't like the thought of it, and it's mainly the parents that do, but it's not like they're the ones that will have to go to school wearing clown suits anyway. -

Tae Kwon Queston
rabid hamster replied to Tiger's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
we do some self defense stuff... i don't like it very much. i think sparring is the best for self defense anyway, instead of repeating prearranged attacks and stuff over and over. -
hey i suggest stretching about 30 minutes every other day.. but you should only stretch after your workout for 30 minutes because that's when your muscles are nice and warm therefore it's easier to get flexible. you should also stretch after warming up when you start your workout for about 10 minutes, but remember most of it will be lost while you train...at least i think. not just stretching, but also work on your kicking techniques, and do strength exercises(weight lift, push ups, squats, crunches) and run/jump rope to improve endurance.

Authenticity of a school.
rabid hamster replied to Jack's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
hey post the sifu here, if he's good im sure someone will know him. but i don't think there's as many fake schools in wing chun like TKD and karate, but wing chun is still a popular kung fu style so you never know. One sign a wing chun school is good is that they have no belts or sashes. If they do it doesn't mean they're bad, because some sifus just add it in. It's just that wing chun traditionally never really had belts and stuff. make sure the school does lots of chi sao. -

rabid hamster replied to EpicMasterpiece's topic in Health and Fitness
if you want to do the exercises in the book, do you need any equipments? i have 18 more pounds to dispose of.. Mwhaha.. lol.. -

hmm well i used to go to korea once every year, and i never really had a problem with this. a thing that helps though is make sure you reach your destination at night, so that when you arrive you can sleep right away and in the morning your fully awake and you really don't have a problem. Sleeping a few hours on the plane is good too.

Wait, so randori is a prearranged attack? So far everyone including the ninjutsu instructor has told me that randori was a random attack, and was basically free style sparring... I'm lost now...
-
i wansn't feeling too creative that day.

hey i think this may be a bit late to post this but i met a few people that take ninjutsu and they said they do sparr but focus more on some randori stuff.. which i think is something like sparring?

Sorry KI-Master, but it's more then likely it is placebo effect. Try making a "ki ball" in your hands. You can feel it.. all pushy and magnetic and warm and tingly.. and have another person try to feel it. They might, but 99 percent of the time they just think you're weird. I believe ki is real... But not "ki balls" and "ki blasts." You do know those terms/"techs" were made after someone watched too much Dragon Ball Z? I was there when this whole "ki ball" and blasts thing started on the internet, so I know. If you want to really learn ki, take up an internal art such as tai chi or chi kung.. Which are traditional arts that have been proven to work over thousands of years... As for balls and blasts, a 16 year old made the whole thing up, and it has been existing for only 4-5 years and ONLY on the internet(not a reliable source of info all the time). maybe they are real, but you won't achieve anything with them.. perhaps a little healing, but that's the best you can get, and this can also be placebo.
