  1. Yes , most of karate schools do
  2. Bruce lee was indeed anti japanese and anti karate , and therefore , a rasist .
  3. We had a student that stopped coming to the dojo from about a year , yesterday he returned , and he claimed that he has been trying other martial arts during his gap, and that he haven't found a style that is more complete than kyokushin !!!!
  4. monkeygirl , i understand your point of view , however , we are not talking here about a high ranked student fighting a lower ranked one , we are talking about two black belts , same weight , same height , about the same age , fighting under kyokushin rules ( full contact / knock down ) , i didn't expect that a black belt is not able to control his temper and his moves after the fight went soft !!!!!
  5. Sensei stoped the fight after that move ,maybe because he knew that am gonna charge hard ????
  6. We had a training session today , at the end of the session , I was sparring with another black belt infront of all the class , after 3 minutes or so , the other guy told sensei that he is tired and couldn't fight anymore , sensei told me to take it easy on him which i did , and then that guy connected with a real hard kick to the head , I managed to avoid it by leaning backword ( cause i lowerd my guard earlier) any way that was a cheap move , he just wanted to k.o. me in front of sensei and the class !!! I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE IT EASY ON ANYONE ANYMORE
  7. I train in kyokushin , and i do some aikido from time to time /which is similar to hapkido in many ways / , now if i am to choose between kyokushin and hapkido , I’d defiantly choose kyokushin , simply because I LOVE IT Kyokushin is a hard style of karate founded by Sosai Masutatsu Oyama , and it's one of the hardest forms of TMAs around ,kyokushin emphasizes combat effectiveness and power . Kyokushin , unlike other forms of karate , requires that a student fights with no protective gear ( except groin protector ) , each fighter must not only strike hard but also be able to take hard hits . Kyokushin is also characterized by it's full contact , knock down tournaments
  8. Definitely not . One thing for sure , it was a boring site
  9. Never heard of it
  10. Welcome to KF!
  11. I'm curious , is there any form of competition in hapkido (tournaments fighting) ??
  12. What about chinese MAs ?? what we know about them is much less then what we don't know ?? The only reason that a tiny thai boxer can k.o ppl bigger is because he trains harder and from an early age , I don't think that there is any hidden techniques in Muay thai
  13. Hello Oss , what karate style do you do ???? What i recommend for you is : Never quit training .
  14. I HATE LONG POSTS ... I guess taiji fajin would be displeased !!!!!!
  15. Sounds resonable , lol.. I agree with the original post
  16. We have a student in our dojo who started at age 30 , now, after 10 years of training , he is a black belt , and is a good fighter Fransisco Filho won the world tournament at age 31
  17. What exactly is USSD ?
  18. Same ,and sometimes we allow (padded) hands contact to the head , sometimes we allow grappling and groundfighting .
