  1. Yes , few only make it to BB , why do you think is the reason ??
  2. I 2nd that! and people that are rushing to black belt..then whats the point? You can't really say your a black belt if you know absolutly nothing! Sometimes black belt is important , especially if you want to instruct , I am not saying that you must rush to a BB , but if you know you deserve it ( thats after 4 or 5 years of severe training) then why not taking it ??

  11. Don't be affraid of competion , if you do not want to compete , no one is going to force you .
  12. Capoeira contains lots of strikes so it can be used in k-1 . As for the wrestler goes , I don't remember his name but his striking skills where poor , the shidokan guy was toying him , he k.o.ed him in 30 seconds with a low kick . Don't forget that k-1 sponsors MMA events now so the wrestler must have competed in MMA division and wanted to c what kickboxing looks like
  13. I know a guy who trained in boxing for about 9 years , and then he got himself banned from the local boxing federation for hitting a referee so he moved to kickboxing where he easily won many local tournaments and placed second in an international tournament that was held in Russia , then , he was introduced to muay thai where he built a reputation for himself for beating any one that stands in his way , now he's gona fight in the west Asia tournament . When I asked him what techniques does he usually use , he said : Boxing techniques + low kicks . Just to show how deadly a boxer can be .
  14. Congratulations , so whats ur belt order any way , is it the classical white -yellow - orange – green …….
  15. I have to disagree with you ncole_91, although there are lots of differences between karate and kung fu , there are lots of similarities as well , Chinese Kempo was introduced to Okinawa around 1400s and then was independently developed to Okinawan te . Ovine king , you forgot to mention that chinese boxing was merely lost after the failure of boxers rebellion , while okinawan martial arts where on their prime (that was b4 1940s )

  19. edited : Any style -or organization- can compete in k-1 as long as they adhere to it's rules which are the same as Muay Thai without the elbows . Fighters from many styles have already competed in k-1 such as karate , kick/Thai boxing , western boxing , TKD , kung fu , Capoeira ...... I have even seen a wrestler competing in a k-1 kickboxing match ( he got destroyed by a shidokan guy )
  20. I usually use high kicks and flashy moves while sparring with lower ranks at the dojo that i never use in a tournament (peer) or a real situation
