  1. agreed
  2. Squatting up and down so your butt is parallel to the floor. I also try to do these on a count, (5 secs. down, hold for 5, and then up for 5). As I am nearing the end of my limit I might do a "burnout" where I will hold one or two for 30sec to a minute. Then I will be crawling out of the studio. No complaints though, it has been really helpful.
  3. Good advice Anonymous One. Also watch your intake of sugar, (ie. soft drinks, sweets etc) they tend to gravitate towards the "problem areas" on both sexes.
  4. Hey greenbelt_girl15, Refer to my message I sent you on Chi. Was it helpful to you? Let me know if you have any more questions.
  5. he knocked the guy unconcious and then brought him back to consciousness by touching the right pressure point/meridian to revive him. The guy did not die and his chi wasn't broken, he was just shown how powerful a technique can be when executed by a master.
  6. make sure to keep your knees bent and your BACK STRAIGHT.
  7. Mr.Pockets, you hit the nail on the head. That will help the rear delts. Try it you'll like it.
  8. sure thing greenbelt_girl
  9. Thanks greenbelt_girl15. Don't feel pain or disapointment for you family. If they are believers as well, they will be with you someday. God bless.
  10. Kenesai, I am not quite to the level of a one hit knockout yet, but I have been working on cultivating my chi flow through Zhan Zhuang training. I can now start to feel each knuckle in my finger move and I can start to feel every joint move. I am more aware of my body then I was even 2 weeks ago. I hope this helps you out a little bit. The more I relax, the more intune I become with my body and how it responds to me and the the Chi.
  11. I agree greenbelt_girl15. As a Christian (now in seminary studying to be a pastor) I get asked the question alot by my legalistic seminarian friends about CHI/KI and "energy" and how can I do that and be a Christian. I do sometimes focus on scripture I have memorized or use my time of Standing Meditation to talk to the Heavenly Father through prayer. It's a great way to forget about how much pain I am in while practicing Zhan Zhuang. Please feel free to talk to me further on this.
  12. Excellent post as always ChangWuJi. I will be hitting the One Year Plateau soon, (Aug. '05) I can't wait.
  13. If you have a gun, shoot him first. If you don't and he is close enough in, possibly take your chances. If he is too far away, good luck. (I hope no one here has to deal with this EVER!) Stay safe.
  14. I see no connection. (I can hear an ant crawling accross the floor at midnight), so I wonder if I could hear him?
  15. When a person finds himself, he can discover what he needs to do to make himself better and he can do it. This would be spiritual growth (in a non-Christian sense) for that person. Am I correct?
  16. Nice Post Yoda, May the force be with you
  17. I try to do Zhan Zhuang (standing meditation) every day. (Optimum for me is an hour a day). I get to focus my energy and relax my body/spirit. I also use it to cultivate my chi and work on my inner strength. Hope this helps.
  18. That might be an simpler (yet similar) explination PhDPeddler. Thanks.
  19. distance, distance, distance. You MUST control the distance.
  20. Didn't Michaelangelo use a yoyo in one of the ninja turtle movies to beat up on the foot?
  21. Standing up to the bully was the right thing to do. Maybe he will think twice before he messes with someone again.
