He he. Yeah, that was really something! I didn't think I'd like Kill Bill, but I do!
-
Oh, Pogo... I wish I could tell you, but since I've never seen that happen at my dojo, I can't. I don't think we have those shields. P.S. I love your name; makes me think of the snack.

It was really random! He just asked me in class out of nowhere. He's recently been captivated by tai chi; he keeps talking about how it's an MA that requires minimal effort to really make a huge impact. He's also really into pressure points, especially since he saw this anime show where a guy applied 164 super-fast techniques to someone and practically left them near death.

He he. Well, if there's any at all (knock on wood again), let us know!
-
Um... *run away* How about no? Thanks for the responses, guys. Any more out there?
-
That is creepy! Maybe you should contact the police and let them know of that suspicious behaviour.

Hey, guys! A friend of mine who practiced tae kwon do for many years, and who recently found out that I practice karate, asked me the other day what the deadliest move in karate was. I honestly don't know if one exists, but I told him that any strike to the neck could do you in if done with enough force. What do you think? Does such a "deadly" move exist?

Noooo! I'm so sorry! Better luck next time!

He he. Not bad. Creative!

These are great! -
LOL! Sounds interesting... though quite confusing if you're not used to hearing stuff like that.

I think I'm starting to get it. Well, what I'm really getting right now is hungry just picturing that hotdog smothered in ketchup and... *drool*

Let's see... If you want stronger leg muscles, the only exercise that comes to mind right now that you can do without using any equipment is running/jogging. You could also do slow leg raises. As for the actual techniques, practicing is the key. Also, why don't you ask your instructor for some extra help?

Oh, jeez! I'm pretty much the same way! When I get home from school, I unlock my door while peeking over my shoulder every so often, since we're just by the stairwell (we live in an apartment building). Once I get in, I listen for any strange sounds. The bedroom doors are closed at this time, so after I've taken my shoes off and hung my jacket up in the closet, I proceed to my room, but on the way, violently throw open my parents' bedroom door, then my own. Why violently? In case anyone is in the bedroom, I can take them by surprise. Eh... it's my theory, anyway. I also keep a knife in my bedside table drawer. It's pretty much within arm's reach. The only hassle would be to have to open the drawer, find the knife, then remove it from its sheath. Yeah... we're weird.

Say something. Obviously, these so-called "senior" students do not understand their martial art at all. Where's the peace? Where's the understanding? How dare they accost you in the parking lot? That makes me sick. Frankly, I feel bad for people like that. One can only hope that something clicks in their heads and they learn to follow a better path. Good luck, Juniper!

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you. I think I'll probably be grading at the end of the month or at the beginning of April. I can't wait!!!! Don't worry. My advice to you is what I, myself, plan to do-- PRACTICE! Good luck!
-
Okay, Jax_Evolution, ya got my attention! What kind of technique did your instructor do to nearly make someone pass out?!
-
Exactly! It's the transition from one movement to another that you need to learn from an instructor in order to make sure you are doing it correctly.

He he! Congrats! -
Let's see... I would definitely advise taking 3-8 deeeeep breaths right before you grade. After 3 breaths, something happens chemically in your brain that heightens your awareness. It will also relax you if you're nervous. Also, be sure to practice as much as you can to ensure that you are confident in your abilities. Good luck!
