  1. That question has been in all my replies in this post. Why do people say like this..."In that place they train both tai chi, wing chun and kung fu", instead of saing..."in this place they train kung fu" or..."in this place they train tai chi and wing chun kung fu"??
  2. Then why do people refer to Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Wushu and Tai Chi as individual styles, and not just plain Kung Fu or Wushu?
  3. I know about the difference between Wushu the name, and Wushu the styles, although you brought up a lot of details I didnt know of. I know your reply was about more than just this ovine king, but this post isnt about if Wushu is a more correct name to use over Kung Fu. This post is about Tai Chi, a Kung Fu style, or a system of its own. And Wushu, a Kung Fu style, or a system of its own. And if so, then why do people use those names separately. I have also seen a few using the names Wing Chun and Kung Fu separately, as though WC isnt a KF style. 1kickKO. Why dont you think Tai Chi is a Kung Fu style?
  4. .....What are you talking about?
  5. I hear and read this over and over again. Everyone puts Wushu and Kung Fu in different categories and its the same thing with Tai Chi and Kung Fu. Why dont people see Wushu and Tai Chi AS Kung Fu? Now I wanna know the truth. Is Tai Chi Kung Fu? Is Wushu Kung Fu? Heres my thoughts on this matter. Yes, both styles are Kung Fu. Because, Kung Fu is not a style in itself but a name that stands for all Chinese Martial Arts, and both Wushu and Tai Chi is Martial Arts. What do you think?
  6. Its Karate, not Kung Fu...I have never seen flips, spins and handsprings in Karate. The only styles I have seen with these types of acrobatics are Ninjitsu, Kung Fu and Capoiera.
  7. This is what i said about acrobatics: "why I believe acrobatics is a good thing to learn. OF CAUSE NOT TO JUMP AROUND but be agile enough to use the environments to your advantage" What I meant was, that some acrobatic moves makes you spin etc, and therefore makes you more agile and better to coordinate your body-movements, and become more light on your feet. Of cause there are other ways to become more agile. But since acrobatics is sort of a "bad word" when talking about self-defense, I thought I would like to say that it can still be useful. This can probably be discussed till doomsday, but I really dont have the patiens for that. So Il just say that this is just my opinion.
  8. Well I think its great! Pointless, but great.
  9. If you look at the way Jackie Chan choreographs, he use the environments(acrobatics yadayada) a LOT! Unless you are surrounded, it will be best to do the same. Thats one of the reasons why I believe acrobatics is a good thing to learn. Of cause not to jump around but be agile enough to use the environments to your advantage. And of cause learn to use the Adrenalin to your advantage, like Jackie Chan does in his films(however that is done, beats me). I dont know how to use it for fighting, only running .
  10. I dont know if its exactly in the groin. i think it is. Where else could it be? Either its in the groin or very close.
  11. I just remember last night, that i havent seen a doctor yet about it. I saw him when i had some kne problems, not the groin. i have to make an appointment.
  12. Okay, thanks.
  13. I havent trained in 5 months, because of a most foolish thing. It happened one night, I wanted to try and do a tornado kick right. I got exited and did it too many times. I hadnt stretched out yet, and I did a last try. It failed, because I didnt jumped high enough. I slammed my right leg down like a hammer, and it hit the floor wrong. From the moment it happened too the next day, it hurt badly in the groin(Lyske, in danish. Im not sure if I spell it right in English). Its been about a year since it happened, and I can still feel it sometimes, though not often. I have spoken to a doctor about it, but he wasnt very good at helping with it! I REALLY wanna start training again, but am afraid that it might only make things worse. I have set my mind on this Friday, but wanted your opinions first. Now, stretching out at home before I try to training is out of the question. I have tried that many times, and somehow(no idea why) it only makes things worse. I have to start from the bottom in the club. I have tried going to training before with this problem. The first, I trained too hard, and made thing much worse. Then after some months of waiting for it to heal, I tried again. This time I was very careful, not to kick too high(I actually didnt kick atall) and not make too low stances. It helped, and I didnt notice the injury. Then something happened some weeks after. I dont know why, but I stopped training and then the problem came back. Now its been 5 months since I stopped, And am very unsure of what to do so I wont feel the problem anymore. I have been thinking like this... I start only when Im in the club. Then start to stretch out...I need to know how hard or soft I should do it, if that is possible to tell me... Then tell my teacher that I cant kick very high, if I can kick at all, and not doing too low stances. Then easily improve it alittle when I get warmed up. Then Stretch out before I go home. Again...tell me, soft or hard? The next day Il be very sore of cause. I wanna know if I shall stretch out that day, or what? And if I should, then when? morning or evening? My next training is next Friday. Should I wait to stretch out again then or do it a day or two before? Please write your help in details. thanks
  14. Yes of cause. But this post was about how to deal with the situation when it happens. Believe me when I say that Im doing everything I can, not to get into these situations, that includes staying away from the wrong places at the wrong time. But since it can happen everywhere at every time, I would need to know how to deal with the situation, instead of how to avoid it. The only styles I can practise at this moment is: Wing Tsun(an idiot of a teacher, whos misunderstood a few things). Kung Fu Toa(not Chinese, and not what Im looking for). Ninijitsu(to much about killing and mumbojumbo). Capoiera(Im thinking about it, and it sounds like a good idea). Shaolin Long Quan Pai(The style Im practising at the moment...I love this style). Tai Chi Quan(never tried it, but the thought has crossed my mind). Aikido(the only Japanese styles I like are Ninjitsu styles). Karate...something(how about nooo). Tai Kwon Do(even worse than Karate). Kickboxing(nope nope nope. Dont like it). Taiboxing(to violent and unstylish for me). Shootfighting(Might aswell go with Taiboxing). Boxing(I would like to learn a few tecniques from it, but not enough to begin studying the style). Thats all the styles I know of is teached where I live.
  15. Hahaha. "Watch Rumble in the Bronx " Even though its just a film, I still think theres some realism in that film. So I can probably use something in it. Maybe theres some way you can help me use the adrenaline to benefit me, like in rumble in the bronx. "Actually, having been thru this myself, Ithink it is a good idea to learn a bit of their language, get at least one friend of that culture to interpret to you how to communicate to them you are not an enemy but if treated as such will take as many as you can with you. No?" Sounds logical enough. I do know some things about their culture, but that wont help me anything. If I spoke their language, it would just confuse them, and maybe make me look like a smart *. I do know a few words, but nothing much. Im good at making friends with some of them, But theres still assholes among them. Its not a problem to communicate with them. They do speak danish, many of them pretty good. "There is no real reason why a group of people would attack you everytime you walk down the street unless you give them a reason 2 or have done something to them in the past. So if there is more to this story than your letting on, maybe you need to sort that out with the group of people in question." I didnt say that it would make sense. Im not lying here if thats what you are referring to. And Im not the kind of guy to pic a fight. Infact Im known to be very hard to get to fight. Theres allot of you who has made a point on the usefulness of a gun. You cant be serious about that! Theres no way in the world I would kill a person, unless it was a matter of life and death between me and my closest. And if I do pull out a gun, then I can be sure that either they will stop harassing me, OR acquire guns themselves and make everything worse than they originally was. Both cases will give me trouble. To risky I think. Ninjitsu isnt a style I want to study because of religious reasons. But Im thinking about starting Capoiera, to be more flexible and be able to use the environment better. And I have kung fu for fighting close quarters.
  16. There are different versions of tornado kick. Some where you kick with both feet. some where you parry with the first and kick with the second. The one you mentioned. One where you hit from above like a hammer with the last foot, and one where you do a more roundhouse like kick. You cant say that theres a wushu way and classic way. "the focus of them is different". Like I said "its what you put into it that determines the power. It isnt the movements thats bad for combat, but the way you are taught"
  17. The "modern wushu" styles teach exactly the same movements as any other classic gung fu style. Maybe a little powerless, I dont know, but its what you put into it that determines the power. It isnt the movements thats bad for combat, but the way you are taught. . So I dont think you can say that modern wushu is bad for selfdefence. Thats how I look at it anyway.
  18. A good way to gain confidence IS to date girls. But I will have to agree with you on the wisdom part. I know alot of people whos plain stupid, because they date to much. Dont make dating your life. It will make you stupid.
  19. Heres the Styles I know of, besides some of the already mentioned. Dux Kyu(Sorry if its spelled wrong) Zhong Guo Long Quan Gong Fu - Long Quan Pai Qi Xing Shao Lin Tang Lang - Qi Xing Shaolin Tanglang Lan Shou Men Chen Shi Tai Ji Quan - Chen style Tai chi Quan He Nan Xin Yi Liu He Quan Zui Ba Xian Quan - Eight Drunken Mortals Pro Wrestling Russian Martial Arts She Quan Pi Qua Quan Jujitsu Pancratium Ju-Jutsu Tourou-Ken Aikido Kung Fu Toa Wing Tsun Long Fist Vale Tudo Judo Praying Mantis Black Tiger White Crane Kenpo Mi Zong Tang Soo Do Kali Sticks Bo Nunchaku Hapkido Lui He Ba Fa San Shou Xing Yi Shotokan Karate Fu Jow Pai Shuai Chiao Ba Qua Eagle Claw Tong Bei Yuan Yang Nan Chuan Hung Gar Crab Sambo
  20. I thought the Wude was a great philosophy, when I saw it in Shenmue. Much of what was in that website Hudson, was in the game to, if I remember right. I find the 3 of the Wude, to be something really good. "Righteousness is a way of life. Righteousness means that if there is something you should do, you don't hesitate to take care of it, and if there is something that you should not do, you don't get involved with it.". Shouldnt we act noble, when the stronger is hurting the weaker? We have a better chance of making it out whole, than others. So shouldnt we help if someone defenseless is attacked in the city? Like rape and that.
  21. Welcome to you both bouncing monkey and dtstiachi. I Had a friend ones who studied karate. He showed me a few things with the sai, and I fell in love with that weapon the moment I first held it in my hand. Sure all the chinese weapons are nice, but theres just not a weapon that can match the Sai. I love it, I love it, I love it! Learn it. You will not regret it.
  22. Well now...arent you a lovely little fellow! It isnt my impression Im talking about! I have known a few of them, and talked about it with some of them. And they actually think its Honorable. Okay. And again. I have never said that I could take down 10. .....Why are you writing this again...!?! Your right about that point...But It will probably be "hospitalization" anyway, so I think I would rather have a weapon than nothing. What is your problem!?! When have I made it clear that I dont want comments...? Yes I did and here it is If you go to page two(or whatever you would call it) in this post, you will also see it! In the future...please stop writing to me in that....Charming....way. Your replies doesnt help...they irritate! The advice I could really use, is not how to fight them, but how to avoid them(And assume that I do take all the obvious precautions). I gave you some examples in my first posts, on how things could begin. And I would really like to get some of your thoughts and experiences on how you would do it. Im from Aarhus. The immigrants are coming from Brabran and Gellerup.
  23. And what exactly is wrong with that? How would that be able to get you exposed? In anyway?
  24. Yeah heres the answer....Suck it up and go take her. Shes yours, so be a Man(a little man perhaps, what do I know), You already have her halfway, DONT miss your opportunity. Its better to fail than not to try at all. Do one of these three: 1)Be your self. Dont give me wrong...If you aint cool, you dont rule. But still, be your self. Walk over to her(It dont matter if shes not alone), and ask her if she would like to go to the movies. REMEMBER! Be your self but in a cool way, when you walk over to her. And stop being childish! If she saids no, then thats something. But it shows that you are not afraid to take an initiative, and girls love that. 2)Wait for the next party(then it mite be to late). Then walk over to her(again, remember to be yourself in a cool way), and ask her out to dance. Then talk to her while you dance. Maybe say something like this: "You look nice", or that dress looks good on you(girls, correct me on this).: If your in the last years of school. 8-10. then ask her what shes gonna do after the school. After you to has gotten into a talk, then you will have to remember two keyword..."Listen intentfully"...Look her into the eyes"(when you listen and talk)(DONT stir!.... ask your sister, mom, or anyone whos a girl and is not gonna tell, for advice. 3)Be a MAN and find a time where shes alone in a place where noone will be looking, and then kiss her. Its as simple as that....Go and take her gently(not to gently) by the head or shoulders with both hands, and give her a real kiss. She will either slap you, or be yours for ever.(This is probably the most risky and difficult approach, and you will have to have known her for some time, before you can do this. But its something that has a 50-50% chance of working). I have know a few who has done this, and its been working every time. Be yourself. Be cool. Dont show you are afraid. Take initiative. be a man!
  25. Ever heard of the four "Wude". When you say it, it sounds more like Wudu, but is spelled Wude. Its Chinese and are supposed to be four attributes that a martial artist must posses. I have heard of it in an xbox game called "Shenmue 2", And was wondering if it really exists or if its just something from the game.
