I have been into alot of fights at school. And it was almost never my fault . But almost everyone of them was the kind of fights where you are friends again five mins after the fight. So I dont know if that will count. But I learned how to through a punch in the nose. However, now Im a peacemaker. Peace!

Learning nunchuku from videos/books
dippedappe replied to CapitalKarate's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
Hehe. I didnt say I was good. I just said that I could beat people with it, and do it in a stylish way. But I think its better to start training with ignorance. By that I mean. If you wanna learn kung fu. Its better to learn it in a school from the bottom, than starting from a book and then go to a school afterwards. Well thats my opinion anyway. -
Learning nunchuku from videos/books

I have been practicing Nunchaku from what I have seen in Bruce Lee movies. I may not be the best who wields it, but that doesnt mean I cant beat-up some bad-guys with style. -
Are we Warriors or Cowards?
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I wonder what your point was with this reply. If you meant this as a joke, then please use a smiley. If it was serious, then take the time to read what has been posted here. You may find that you made the wrong conclusion. -
Are we Warriors or Cowards?
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Okay, then apologize to both of you. Il keep that in mind. I believe Tai Kwon Do was developed to help soldiers. Aikido was developed by the Samurai. European Fencing. Russian MA. However Im not entirely sure about either of them. -
Are we Warriors or Cowards?
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
SevenStar and ovine king. you must have missed my last two posts. I have told you that this isnt about being a warrior at war. This is about if we should or should not act nobel if we can make a difference as martial artists. Where the line between chivalry and stupidity(if those two words arent the same) crosses. And maybe how we should act. As I said. Every question this topic holds. What if you dont have the means to move to another country. Would you still testify against the mafia member? -
Are we Warriors or Cowards?
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Whether the names warrior and Coward is or isnt the right names to use, doesnt matter. If you want to use other names, then go ahead. I picked Warrior because it sounded romantic. However, I think that Coward is a very good name for the other character. But as I said. If you dont like it, then use another name. I dont know if I would. Would you? -
Are we Warriors or Cowards?
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I made this post to start an discussion on if we should or shouldnt, would or wouldnt react noble in a situation that called for a nobel action, if we could make a difference. If you(none in particular) would be brave(careless) and do the noble thing, or be careful(smart), and do nothing. Like, would you rush in and help a screaming old lady if she was attacked, or call the police and wait for them to take care of it. Or maybe just walk away, pretending that you didnt hear or see anything ect...Or maybe if you were in a bar late at night, and a gang made trouble. Would you try to stop them, or call the police and stay away from them. Would you stop a mafia member and testify against him ect...All the questions this topic holds. It was also my meaning to make this discussion "black and white", and then let it go into more "gray" areas. And I wrote it in a romantic way simply for the fun of it. Mind you that I dont think you are a coward only because you wont through yourself carelessly into the fray. -
A Warrior must have the courage to stand up for his believes. To fight for his believes, and even die for what he believes is right. Who dares to risk his life for another, with honour as price. A Coward is one without courage and sense of justice. One without honour and selfrespect. Who seeks the easy way, with his worth as toll. What are we? We train to go the Warrior way, but do we have the courage? Do we dare to stand up to the dangers for what we believe is righteous? For what is justice and honourable? Or do we seek cover like a Coward?

I just found a Jeet Kune Do school in Denmark in the same area Im living in! Heres the wepsite. Its in danish though. http://www.jkdfighting.dk/ I have both heard and read that there are many JKD schools that has teachers that havent really understood JKD. So I would like to know how I can tell if hes good enough?
-
I wrote "wing tsun/wing chun" and "wing tsun" in google. I didnt try writing "leung ting". No. I looked at 2 or 3 other wepsites too, but didnt find the answers to my questions there either. The one I gave you was one I was just about finished with. Thanks. I did try to be more precise in my last post. "what tekniques WC has that WT doesnt have?" How so? I was asking the WT/WC students or people that knows what these styles are about. If thats not you then this post wasnt really refered to you. Why are you being so hostile? Most of the posts i have seen with you have had some hostile elements. why?

what other style to complement TKD?
dippedappe replied to seal's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Of cause I tried it one time ones, But that was a long time ago. I think it looked a little like classik kung fu. Mostly hands, but they are definatly not lagging any kicks(okay maybe lagging the acrobatic kicks). A kick is a kick. I doubt you will learn alot of new kicks, but with TKD you will have to learn another style that arent focusing on kicking to be really effective. After trying Hapkido, I was amazed of how many pressure points there are in the human arm! I have no idea mate, sorry. -
what other style to complement TKD?
dippedappe replied to seal's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Hapkido uses alot of moves with joint locking, grappling and pressure points. I have the impression that Wing Chun also has that. Or Aikido maybe. -
Kung Fu or not
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Are you saying that there is only one correct way to spell tai chi? "Chaun" and "Quan" has the same meaning right? "Fist" if Im not mistaken? What dialect do those two belong to? You dont know that. Do not think that you are the only one here who knows the language. Now thats a very unreasonable thing to say mate. You cant determine what is stupid to say and what isnt. Do not think you are better than everyone else just because you invented an fighting art. Like I said. Do not think that your the only ones who knows the language, culture and martial art history of china, because thats not true. Be more tolerant. -
Favorite Kung Fu style

I love Long Quan Pai, But I havent really studied any real Kung Fu styles other than that, so what do I know. -
Kung Fu or not
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
What I meant was this: Why say Wing Chun AND Kung Fu? You cant say that because that will mean that WC isnt KF. Thats the whole point in this post. You cant say this: "here we train tai chi, wushu and kung fu", so why are people doing it anyway. -
Kung Fu or not
dippedappe replied to dippedappe's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I know what you mean 1kickKO, and I agree. Tai Chi is very different compaired to other styles. But so is Wing Chun and Drunken Fist. Have you ever seen a Kung Fu school called Dojo? -
