  1. Well, the thing is i actually agree with the style totally. It's essentially a freestyle kinda thing and the way they do things is up to date and pretty much perfect for me. I'm doing the 2.5 hr classes pretty much every night, but i really don't know if i can give up everything else to study religiously under this dude for 2 years. It's a dilemma. Angus
  2. Heh, i just thought of the happy medium... Doing karate at the playboy mansion... Mmmmm. Angus
  3. Okayz, i won't lie to you... Plain and simple (sorry Patrick but this needs to be clarified), i enjoy my sex life. I always find just enough energy to go the distance and i'm probably more well known for my ability in that region than for my martial arts. So yes, living at the dojo may interfere with that which i love greatly. BUT - this is a great opportunity so better myself, become complete, and simply become the best fighter i can possibly be. I'd no longer be a scrapper, i'd be a butt-kicking animal. I am, however, a free spirit as punchdrunk said and i don't know if i could mentally get up at 6, train till nine - start at middday and train until 2:30 and then start again at 7 and traing till 9:30. Physically it would be, well, not a breeze but nowhere near as hard as my mental state. I'd be thinking - "Oh, i could KILL for a foster's or a toohey's... Or a 6'2" blonde with %$%^# and a nice #$^^&%$$" Why oh why can't there be some happy medium!? Angus
  4. This new dude i train with said to me last night that if i want i can do some Uchi Deshi thing where i train three times a day. I think it's kinda like an unpaid apprentice. Apparently it is supposed to be some kinda honour for a style's founder to offer someone a position like this. I might think about it but it might interfere with the other stuff i do. Crazy, Angus
  5. It's very easy to be me mate! But sorry, i'm one of a kind. Angus
  6. Heh, i don't really have a training schedule - but it's good that it works for some people. I just do whatever. At the moment i'm doing 2 or 3 classes a week, about 500 crunches a day, i do weights every other day and push ups every other-other day. I do bagwork, drills, basically whatever i feel like doing. I come across people who do heaps more than me all the time, and i wonder why i haven't had my head kicked in yet. Angus
  7. I've done KapHiDo before, but go to http://www.kickboxing.com and look up hapkido down the left hand side. It's got some good explanations there. Angus
  8. Heh, i don't know how some people do their backfists, but i put my whole mody into it, and can still twist my hips into it... The strike is so fast due to that fact. More often than not i still do crosses and hooks though. Angus
  9. It's all to do with how tight a muscle is too... There are plenty of blokes out there with loits of muscle on them but it it loose. U see the tight and wiry guys like bruce who could lift more than someone twice their weight and u just think "how do they do that"... I can't think of an analogy to put forth yet, but i will come back when i think of one... Angus
  10. Oh Yeah!! I practice my grappling in bed, only i'm not asleep when i'm doing it - and i'm not alone.... um.... but it IS dark.... most of the time.... Angus
  11. Two words mate: SELF MUTILATION... Whenever i get seriously peeved, rather than risk saying or doing something stupid to my friends/family i smack myself in the stomach a couple of times and punch the walls... It's really great therapy! And everytime after that i calm down easier cos i know if i get mad then i'll be nursing a sore stomach and knuckles for a couple of days... It really works! No bull! Angus
  12. Quit the martial arts? Gees, i don't even remember starting. I guess it comes naturally to me, like breathing, cos i've been in it for 12/13 years, which is as far back as i can remember (i'm 18 btw)... I want to finish my university degree first and maybe do honours, then i want to do a teaching degree and afterwards work as a bouncer/bodyguard for a while. I want to obtain a teaching certificate in this new art i'm doing, Zengoshu Karate, and eventually start up my own full-time dojo. It'd be cool! Karate classes, self-defence classes, women's street defence classes... Ooooooh mumma!! Angus
  13. Hahaha, as usual i am going to be difficult... Punch - Backfist Kick - Groin Kick Roundhouse kicks and hook punches are good, but a backfist will stop 'em and a groin kick will drop 'em... Problem is i don't get much of a chance to use my backfist (which is lightning fast btw)... Angus
  14. U don't believe in meaningless bravado? What in the sam-hill is wrong with u man!?!? Angus

  17. Dirty stories? I've got a million of 'em! Plus i've got video evidence, but that's for another time.. Hahaha... Jiggy - Well, not so much lately since the All-styles competitions have come in, but karate used to have it's own little tournaments and didn't like its students participating outside of their art. Even now, when i go to a traditional karate class i am treated 'unfairly' and made fun of when i disagree with certain manouvres, and try and enlighten them... But it happens for a reason i guess... Don't quite know what that is, but there's a reason! Angus
  18. Well, Aikidoduder, i'm sick of saying the same old crap over and over again so i just say the first thing that pops into my head. I thought it was an excellent statement. Angus
  19. Cheers duder! Angus
  20. Heh, my friends just think i'm a trouble maker Sai... But i don't ask them to fight or help me out - i just do the duty on my own... Hmmm, so what have i done lately? Nothing much. I've been practicing my grappling with my girlfriend :brow: Ya see, she puts me in her guard while i.... um.... oh yes, there's children reading this board isn't there... Hehehe. Angus
  21. It's like love and marriage - u can't have one without the other! Ask teh local gentry and they will say it's elementary! Angus
  22. What about your head kickchick? I mean, what if they sidey had smacked u in the teeth. My head's way more valuable than my ribs, but i suppose they don't teach u to block with your legs and all that in TKD... Angus
  23. Whoa man, there are so many!! My last one was easy, i just shoved the guy against the wall and fed him a few punches... The most dangerous was against three dudes, and one had a knife. I almost died that day, got cut a bit and broke my nose and some back teeth. The funniest was against this fool who said he did *five animal kung-fu* or something. he did these weird looking poses for what seemed like half an hour and then launched himself in a tackle kinda thing, i just let him KO himself on the wall behind me... Angus
  24. That guy must have had a lot of time on his hands to write a piece of rubbish like that. Angus
  25. I like to work on speed when i have everything else covered first... Just for fun i guess. Angus
