  1. Hello, at first, I thought a Z-Rex was a foreign car
  2. Welcome, yeah I am a "old dog" also
  3. Hello-welcome!
  4. Yeah, with your cold, do mot go to class and spread it to others-please
  5. Pending on where I an going....I have a permit to carry a gun. I feel that the 9mm is :overated". but any nice cal. bullet will do. I like .45, .40, and 10mm.
  6. I feel vids are not going to replace a instructors feedback and wisdom. I feel that vid have a commercial agenda, not a total instructional.
  7. Yellow uniforms for yellow belts, ornange ones for orange belts...etc.... Colors to get you noticed-oh boy!
  8. It is hard to do more than one, unless the practices are close. For example, you wouldnt want to do TKD, and Judo at the same time. Maybe a couple of years apart pending the person and art
  9. Sounds like a 60's hippie saying; "Trip em when they get high".
  10. But is it true that you have to train techniques to get there? So there is "no technique", that wasn't already A technique to train to begin with..... So with "no technique", there will be "no technique", that will be the "best technique"?
  11. I would not "stack" one art to another. Each has a reward per the individual desire and dedication. However, if you are asking for a preference, then it cannot come from someone else, whom may or may not have a approval opinion about it. IMHO, stop asking about it as how good it maybe vs ___________, instead, like the Nike slogan says "Just Do It".
  12. Systematic, per a routine?
  13. So why post a question what is more beneficial, if you are benefiting from your existing workout, to which none can truely give you advice on?
  14. Fancy? From the previous explanations of fancy, seem to be "showboating". The fancier the move, the less it will be effective. Fancy per tournament or street? One should stop relating these "showboating" moves with effectiveness.
  15. I have to agree. But the poster had the title to make one think it was a mix. Also, as anything, it will get abused or named for recognition to draw more memberships. So complete a background check on the WC. Trace lineage, which WC has some ok.
  16. For your first post-welcome. A simple hello, or other freindly greeting would have been nice preceding the post.
  17. We had, but not too often. Injuries had happened. Sparring was a phase for higher practitioners (not that high) in order to minimize injury because of abilities. In other words, methods had to be perfected before their application.
  18. Because, like anything else, it gets political and exploited.
  19. Why shouldnt it be? He was studying amongst Asians, whom at the time, were probably "harder" on occidentals. Thus it will be complete in accordance of whatever has to be done, with hard work.
  20. Running out of ideas? How can you have any relation to training with that to create ideas to motivate students? You should be the motivator, not creating new ideas. 250 students and you have to be creative? 250 melons, was there a sale, or did you know a grower? What about the mess? Not to boast, as other instructors may agree, having so much training and material is a lifetime of study. If one had started many years before teaching, the students could almost never "catch up" with the teacher. In others words, the teacher, being experienced, would never have to result in "being creative". IMHO
  21. The problem with testing/ranks, is that the mentality, for a novice, is that it is always on the mind. In the later ranks, they seem to come and go without much notice. If one is thinking about tersting/ranking, one is truely not thinking about training and their art.
  22. Hardly anyone will train with us when they are ill. It is common courtesy which should prevail over eccentrics.
