  1. I've seen his ads in all magazines and also the Willian Cheung thing.. and all i say is.... He's a Wing Chun stylist trying to play tough. Not the best attitude.
  2. I wonder how can a person who have a job which depends on there looks.. like models or actor .... Can practice Muay Thai without losing there jobs by showing next day for a photo shoot with blacks eyes and knocked down teeths. lol
  3. Also, Grapple!!! Grappling will give you grappling endurance. You can Run, jump ropes, etc.... But what will give you endurance for grappling is..grappling. Roll, roll, roll.. Don't get desperate, you just have two weeks on BJJ, your classmates will mop the floor with your body for sometime, but you'll learn and get better and with regular training you'll be grappling much much better, just have patient.
  4. Go to kickboxing.com Styles list and you'll find web pages with Wu Shu information.
  5. hmmm Just a little thing. Vale Tudo is a contest, not a martial arts style. You go to a vale tudo contest, you fight for money. Vale Tudo have there rules depending on the Organization. NOW, the most popular Vale Tudo competition styles are Muay Thai, Box, Wrestling and BJJ. If you find a place which says that they teach "Vale Tudo" that means its a Gym in which they prepare people to fight in the Ring, for money or some amateur competitions, like in Boxing.
  6. 4 hours on weekends afternoons.
  7. Kensai, I don't know what's wrong with me man... i heard strange voices inside my head that makes me Ask things that i already know the answers. Maybe its my other "dumb" me Or maybe im just getting too old.
  8. They all look the same to me... Every time i open a book or a magazine, they seem to share the very same techniques . Weapons are the little diference i see because Hwarando and Kuk Sul won use more traditional weapons than Hapkido. And the other diference are the uniforms.. but for the rest, i see the same things.
  9. Oh I'll advice myself..lol Good styles for short people are mostly the ones who work in close-range... I feel with good training you can be good in any martial arts but obviously there are styles that fit better with your personality, goals, and physical limitations. Ive been looking for information, talked over with some instructors and trained with other and For short people i've found that Muay Thai, Xing Yi, sourthen chinese styles (wing chun, hung ga, choy lee fut, etc..), Okinawan karate styles (gojuryu, shorin ryu, etc..), Are good styles for short people.
  10. Congratulations, you got there and competed against more experience grapplers, gain experience and had fun, You got there and lose, but you at least tried, next time you'll have more experience and you'll do it much better in my book you ARE a winner. Good for you. Keep training.
  11. Here its another option.. you are attacked by.. lets say 3. Get the first one and hit it as hard as you can and then cripple him someway, while you are working on the first guy, the other two will jump you and will kick your butt. But you'll have taken at least one.. 3 against 1, lets be real, you were going to get you butt kicked anyway, so its better to take a beating from 2 than taking it from 3..
  12. Just condition your body and wear protective gear...
  13. Check this site.. https://www.kyokushinmail.com you'll have lots of info about Kyokushin karate.
  14. Hmm.. as long as they are legit schools.. My recomendation is either Kyokushin karate, Judo and Hapkido.. and if you can try them all, its better .. i believe in crosstraining.
  15. Hi, I wear a JudoGi for train.. and i can train all my kicks and punches very well with those pants.
  16. Oh those movies are good action movies.. its a good series.
  17. There's a Dojo near here that charges $35 a month 3 days a week..
  18. Yes, Muay Thai can be good for self defense in the striking departament, but i suggest to crosstrain in a grappling Art and you'll be well rounded.
  19. i mean, Brazilian jiu jitsu,of course..... Japanese jiu jitsu focus more on standing grappling.
  20. Of course, tweedy... I think Jiu jitsu have the best ground fighting game plan
  21. To me, the problem is that many master doesn't know the meaning and doesn't know the techniques the forms teach you.. Most of the Dojo's i know, they practice Forms mostly for tournament competitions... that's why Kata can be seeing as useless, because it is, if you only train for competitions without knowing the proper Bunkai of the movements.
  22. maybe, BB who are also teacher, should have a discount at least.
