Heather - high-green belt Heather?? Is that you girlfriend? Helllllllooooooooo!!!!!! Lori -
Alison....you will have the advantage when you're both older - she won't be able to continue at the rate she's going, so in a way you already do have the advantage over her. Instead of envying her, focus on your own accomplishments... Lori

Alison - Icelandic horses are so beautiful!! You're very lucky...my daughter got to ride one in Norway and loved it!

When being attacked from behind, going into horse stance is also a great way to break the attackers' hold on you - simply drop into horse stance, take either leg and wrap it behind the attacker's and flip them over your leg...don't know if that explains it clearly enough, but y'all get the general idea! Lori

Ditto KickChick - bringing it to the forefront again...it's so much more interesting to see what everyone looks like, so come on guys and post pics - we did!!!! Lori

TKD, you're not much for tact are you? Seriously, aren't ALL games for kids, big or small? Thinking about buying either XBox or Gamecube myself, so far Gamecube has the best ratings...

Well, first off I'd like to say that I'm glad as hell that the Taliban are retreating and that Afghani women will be able to have some of their freedom restored - my happiness is however tempered with sadness for the women who waited so long for this and for whom this is too little too late - they have been repressed for so long and have had so many atrocities committed against them that I fear many of them will carry their emotional scars for life. As for the Northern Alliance - these people aren't really a helluva lot better than the Taliban as far as their treatment of women, so let's not start jumping for joy in the streets just yet - let's hope that the U.N manages to help assemble a relatively democratic government so that they can start to at least move in the right direction. Lori -

Hi Sai, good to see you in this forum . I've definately learned alot through sparring..that's the whole reason for doing it isn't it? I find that I'm too competitive and that I just want to win - I have since learned that it isn't a competition and that just because I lose doesn't necessarily mean that it's a total loss because I came away with more knowledge than before I started. The last time I sparred in class, I found that if I didn't back up and became more the aggressor that it works - and it did work like a charm! Any tips you may have would also be appreciated Sai!
