  1. Thanks guys I really appreciate that. Good advice and principles. I understand what you mean by wasted movement and time. Instead of show cut that and accomplish the goal of the technique.
  2. This is most entertaining kicks right? Well better than all of them I seen in one movie. Jackie chans Drunken Master. It was the guy he fought at the end of the movie in that factory. Dude only used his legs and he flipped them around and flinched with them tattooing Jackie all over. Bruce's are great but this guy was crazy.
  3. I'm currently learning a black belt form from a panther productions tape. It's form 6 and it's taught by Master Larry Tatum. I love it's movements and I must say that I should be doing early forms and doing more basics because we haven't tapped on much of our Kenpo branch of our art. Kenpo is part of my schools system that is very open. I want to get into more of that part, I love the flow that is soft but at the same time hard.
  4. Does anybody know where I can purchase some used ones? Ebay has some but they are expensive for a DVD.
  5. Do you take Kenpo?
  6. That's kinda deep. Do you know more about how to obtain this?
  7. Yeah you misunderstood. Someone said they can jump kick 8 feet which is the bottom of a basketball backboard. I'm Five feet ten inches tall and I can run and jump kick nine feet six inches. I'm working on trying to jump kick up to ten feet. What I do is with no shoes I run and do the pump jump kick. Where you pump your knee and snap your other leg up for the kick. We have high kick contest at my school because my teacher saw on ESPN Billy Blanks son and this other dude compete and kick up to 10'6''!!! But they were allowed to fall down on their buts. We make a rule you have to land on your feet or in a squating position not laying down on your rear. I'm working on the Capoeira double leg kick... It's tough. My 540 can be pretty good at times.
  8. Ah that's cool I'm gonna check it.
  9. I'm 5'10'' and can jump kick 9'6'' working on 10 feet.
  10. I can do some, I just got the 540 down. I need to learn flips and some other ariel kicks. Capoeira has some crazy moves using your hands, head, along with your legs. I want to learn the double leg kick.
  11. I see but a good movie is a good movie I'll look for them.
  12. yeah considering the speed Bruce's were, he said someone faster.
  13. I seen one of Bills last fights. He whooped the guy pretty easy. He only used that left leg though and I don't understand why. His punching was good. But who knows they only way we would know how good any of these legends are is if they actually sparred each other but none did. Bruce didn't, Joe, Chuck, Bob, Mike, Bill, Ed, Jim, and others didn't spar each other.
  14. I heard of these two Kenpo martial artist. Does anyone know anything about them? Bruce Lee said one of them had the fastest hands he's ever seen.
  15. Hmm haha.
  16. Warlock, I 100% agree. What's better than experience and training? 25 years of dedication and taking pride and having the love for the arts you studied. It's sad that because you don't have a belt or as my sensai does claim to be a "master" you don't get the credibility you deserve. My thoughts on being a Master. I feel you can't be a master at the Martial Arts. Yes, it would be nice to be considered one some day. But how can you be a master when theres so many systems, paths, ways, and journeys?
  17. That's cool seven, you mind telling your age? Also describe each of the upcoming things your gonna compete in, like the mma competitions and stuff.
  18. I would like to be able to get out there and compete nationally soon. I'm still working and I need many elements to add on my journey as a Martial Artist.
  19. Some insightful things on here. I think i"m gonna get into the Kenpo limb of the tree in our school. I'm learning a form performed by Master Tatum on the Panther productions tape. Black Belt form 6, it's cool but I should learn the basics first. I can do the movements but I need to hit the roots. I love the hand techniques I mean my hands wore sore after practicing the form numerous times because of the changing of hand weapons so often. It's great and I love it. I want to know about Steve Sanders and Donnie Williams. One of these guys Bruce Lee claimed to have the fastest hands he ever seen.
  20. Man that's awesome guys. The years some of you have in I hope to some day have that many years and being able to experience many forms with many instructors. LOL at a few of the post keep this going. So how many of you compete?
  21. Ah ya'll didn't know that?
  22. True^^ But when someone is just way out of shape because once they got they black belt they felt they could just sit around. That's wrong, just giving orders saying do this and that and you can't do it yourself. My sensai is 45 and is in excellent shape for that age. Though, not in the shape he was in his 30's or 20's, he's 6'3'' say 200 something thick, but not ripped. It's inspiring because at that age and older I want to be in that shape.
  23. http://www.bruceleedivinewind.com/davismiller2.html Heres a great link. This guy knows the great fighters of that day and seems to give good points. I think we can come to a happy medium after reading this.
