  1. Welcome to the forums XeDa.
  2. Welcome to KF.
  3. The joke doesn't tell anything about norwegians. The only norwegian I knew was a Guy working under me some years ago here in Italy, now he's back to norway. He was a very clever guy and when we meet around the world (I never went to norway) we still talk about the good old times when we were working together.
  4. Congratulations . and good luck for the continuing of your MA career.
  5. I think this is because Spanish,French,Italian,Portuguese,Romanian and Romanch (a language spoken in a small part of Switzerland) they all comes from Latin.. also in Italian bone is "Osso" so very similar to Oss, Os .....
  6. I come frequently to Switzerland (I'll be in Geneva in ten days from now). I have read that quote in Zurich some time ago. I have been in Zurich and also Lugano but never to Luzern.
  7. Yes I also pay testing fees in my Tai chi chuan school but it is only 20 Euros and you get belt and certificate. As other people stated if is not a big amount of money and it does not happen too frequently ( I'm talking about schools that have more then 10 belt level before black and test every 3 months) I would not bother.
  8. I think it is a great idea. I will start today. Thanks
  9. I allow some amount of hip rotation. Both in Tai chi and Kickboxing
  10. I pay monthly for Tai ch and Yearly for Kickboxing
  11. Welcome to KF.
  12. I rely on my front kick. Mostly because I lack of lateral flexibility and my side kick is not so good. ... but I'm working on it.
  13. I have to admit that I like more striking than grappling so for me an Ideal MA carrer would be: learn northern shaolin kung fu until you are around 20. From 20 to 35-40 kickboxing, San da or muay thai. From 35-40 onwards Karate and Tai chi chuan.
  14. Pure striker at the moment... but in Tai chi I'll do some grappling in the future.
  15. I think the entire belt system is messed up. I do believe that that is this years april fools joke...last year was the knitting forum. Ah ok I didn't even notice that today is all fools day.
  16. CCG take your pick Nice site thanks, but among the various meanings the only thing that worth to be god of was Collectible Card Games.
  17. Ok I know that the NY area is expensive but 1300$ is very expensive IMO. For something like 32 weeks (65 lessons twice a week) which is about 8 months I pay 320 E (I do tai chi chuan) which is about 400$. You should make a search of how much karate costs in your area, in the past we had a thread about costs of MA tutorship you can start looking there
  18. I had God/Goddess Type:God of CCGs (I don't know what it is) Worshippers: Communists (I'm very anti-communist) They show devotion by: Sacrificing Each Other (That's good)
  19. Ironberg, I think all depends on your flexibility for lateral leg movement which is different for flexibility for front leg movement. I have poor lateral flexibility and not bad front flexibility so my front and axe kick are not bad I had to work to have a decent round kick and I'm working hard on my side kick which is definitively poor now. ...And yes also in kickboxing side kick is rarely used we use mostly round kicks (high and low), front kick, and axe kick. Lateral, spinning and hook kicks are less used.
  20. I think the entire belt system is messed up.
  21. I really like the one about Santa Claus. Now I'm on stage 3)
  22. I have picked chinese becase I consider Tai chi chuan as my main stream art. I consider Kickboxing a temporary choice now... Anyway I think the option are not well selected for example if someone does judo shuold he answer grappling or Japanese?
  23. I have a question about this. Is this program on eurosport every monday or is only on special events?
  24. Hello and Welcome.
