  1. Inertia is a wonderful thing...
  2. Who teaches there? Pro fighters? Fat balding tkd "masters" ?
  3. What was he blocking with? His shin? Kicking stuff repeatedly with your instep area isn't good. Sounds like a time for ice and ibuprofen.
  4. He didn't x-ray it the first time?!? Get a different doctor! Is he worried about wasting x-ray film or something?
  5. I'm trying to do more finger tip pushups, and more rope skipping. The finger tip pushups work your chest and your grip (although I cant do a lot on my finger tips right now) and skipping is GREAT cardio. Squats are great, but if I could only do one exercise it would be clean and jerk.
  6. Recruit a dummy. Hey, buddy... want to see something cool? Sevenstar- I love how there's a Japanese, American, and Portugese name for so many moves. Makes communication a lot of fun.
  7. Many vs. many? What? Where would you encounter a situation like that?
  8. The status quo is that jiu jitsu turns out superior fighters on average. The facts are everywhere, but you guys just refuse to acknowledge them.
  9. Just remember: Over confidence killed the cat... or something like that.
  10. Get a can of mace. If you're going to hold something in your hand while you're walking to your car it's much better than a key.
  11. Not all schools or arts are like that. The "rating" BB needs more conditions. It's like saying "I have a college degree." The TKD school down the street in the strip mall is like the local community college. on an OT note: has anyone seen the movie "Equilibrium"? THAT is a MA gunfighter
  12. Not naming any specific styles here, but what if you compare the style to the car? Then even if you have equally skilled drivers there can be a difference in the outcome.
  13. bleeehhhhhh. Treebranch: I've been a member here for 6 months, and I've seen you ruin threads with this same old argument so many times.....
  14. Get the master text. Great book.
  15. Pretty much all my attempts at kneebars have been when I'm in someone's half guard. You can rotate either direction into it I've been very successful getting into position, but people can wiggle into a position where its ineffective way too often.
  16. The biggest problem I have is with people turning sideways. My followup attempt at a toe hold rarely seems to work.
  17. oooh....oooh.... just remembered... http://www.wffchampionships.com/ is also a GREAT site for vids, TONS of them, but they're a little hard to find. I'm sure you can do it though.
  18. I don't have much weapons demo stuff, its not exactly what I'm into. Kazaa is a good place to look, as are other file sharing programs. Some other places (if you like grappling) are: https://www.subfighter.com http://www.bjj.pl/bjjfor/viewforum.php?f=8 http://www.onthemat.com/video-archive-new.html I don't exactly keep track of all the different places I get stuff.
  19. Do you have broadband? If so there's a HUGE amount of stuff online. My "martial arts videos" folder is about 4 gigs right now, and I got rid of a lot of stuff.
  20. I wish people couldn't escape my kneebars.
  21. You guys also check out the techniques on bjj.org, and the technique movies at subfighter.com.
  22. Mounted triangle has been my favorite move as of late.
