  1. Ditto. You should see my black and blue bruising in my foot. Even my toes are discolored. At least I'm off the crutches and air cast now. The worst part of the whole thing is my golf league starts in a few weeks. Maybe I can drive the beer cart.
  2. Pulling out the firearm in a situation doesn't always mean the trigger will be pulled. That's what a lot of people forget. The intimidation factor is enough to stop many situations without firing a shot.
  3. All you have to do is bow in and it's all over with. They're down for the count.
  4. Neil, I'm not sure if your request is really appropriate at this time. It's like asking for mudwrestling vid clips. We just can't make that kind of material available to our younger members. Sorry.
  5. Yes, there are plenty of laws on guns. Government needs to enforce them, not make more. Banning them will not prevent crime. It will only encourage more because criminals will know the average citizen can't defend themselves. You are right. Guns were made to kill. But many people use them to put food on the table. Venison is very tasty. People often forget that gun violence is often associated with drugs. How about we do a better job enforcing drug laws and maybe gun violence will decrease?
  6. I like to kick back and play Yanni most of the time, but occasionally will listen to Zamfir when I'm feeling a little blue.
  7. This was a challange that was part of the first survivor game and one I think should be a classic challange for us. There were submissions in the last one that were serious and some that were what you could consider a fantastic piece of fiction. Be serious or be funny. Just enjoy what you are creating. Sai, Last years submission on Flatuation MA was not fiction. I was dead serious.
  8. I agree with SubFighter. And I would expect a proper throwing technique would also involve a follow up strike to the person on the ground. At least that's what is done in Kuk Sool Won, which is similar in some respects to Hapkido. I would also have to think falling techiniques (nakbup) would be practiced regularly, but how could that be done without mats? Maybe this isn't a traditional style Hapkido school?
  9. Both are fine. I have damaged my ankle again and am not going to sacrifice my ability to walk for a jumping spin kick anymore. I enjoyed the joint locks and pressure points that Kuk Sool Won had to offer, which is why I'm looking at Aikido. Plus, it's offered close by. Kempo isn't. But I'm not so sure of the spiritual aspect of it.
  10. And while we are on the subject of Aikido, would someone please describe how much jumping/spinning is involved in that art? I am currently looking for a style that won't require me to perform Korean type kicks.
  11. Ko Man, if there are reason why you don't like a particular style then please describe them in a more professional manner.
  12. Just when my rib was beginning to feel better I just happen to sprain my ankle a few days ago. Got an x-ray last night and should know if it's broke or not today. I'm gonna be out for a couple months. No more jumping spin kicks for me anymore. This is where I draw the line.
  13. Does it take bits and pieces of a few different Korean Arts?
  14. A martial art? I don't really think that way. But I do have a CCW. And similar to the reasons you give, I don't carry (my compact .40") that often unless I am traveling to a more populated area that I am unfamiliar with.
  15. Nothing specific. Just use a common example. There is no way we (you) could cover all the attack angles.
  16. Good point, Ram. I totally forgot about Libya and Iraq's UN reps. That whole organization is a complete joke.
  17. Never heard of it. Why don't you buy the video so that I can borrow it.
  18. And also what happened to Austraila when they gave up their guns.
  19. Dan's a nice guy, outside the ring. I met him a few years ago at an autograph signing. Still looks ready to rip.
  20. You'll like that Chili Peppers concert, Niel. I seen them a few years ago with Foo Fighters. Flea and Chad Smith rock!
  21. Welcome aboard. We try to encourage open-mindedness.
  22. "I'm 49, but I never lived a single day," said Yusuf Abed Kazim, a Baghdad imam who was pounding the statue's pedestal. "Only now will I start living. That Saddam Hussein is a murderer and a criminal." From FoxNews.com
  23. Like the US Special Forces motto goes: De Oppresso Liber. Free the oppressed.
  24. Sorry to hear about your problem, but I think you would be better off talking to your family or a few friends about this. They know you better than we do. The internet really isn't a good place to discuss personal problems anyway. It's just text. It can't replace a live conversation.
  25. It's a cultural thing. When they go visit a grave site of a fallen comrade, they salute him with vodka. When they conduct business, they start with vodka. I actually had the pleasure of receiving a bottle of Ukrainian vodka from one of our business associates this past winter. It was a honey/hot pepper blend (even had a few peppers in the bottle). Wow, what a warmer-upper.
