  1. I do enjoy searching all over the internet to learn about my chosen martial art. And unfortunately I learned more about some things than I wish I had. And there is so much more I am learning that I love.
  2. Wow there really is something usefull in rolling the dice. Sure glad I am a packrat. That old 4 sided di in my polyhedral collection from my old D&D days sure came in handy.
  3. Thanks for the info I really like to use a flexible bo. I love the way it feels in my hands when a technique is executed with good power and snap. I also have small hands. So I really don't use a standard bo now.
  4. Meditation selfish. Hmm never thought of it that way. Many have a need deep inside themself to be aware of their spiritual nature. There are so many ways this need is expressed. And so many ways to explore it. I have a need to have a part of me to keep my mental state and my physical being in tune with each other and in balance. Currently I am a bit out of balance.
  5. If you are really serious in the Jeff Speakman Movie "Perfect Weapon" as he is preparing to go after the bad guy hi straps on a carrier on his back to carry escrima sticks. Just a thought.
  6. I have to admit I know very little about what you are speaking. Can you describe what it is? And what it is used for?
  7. You know Angus I came into the martial arts at a very low spot in my life. I was in learning the martial arts that I came to learn how to respect many things including myself. I think because I was in a traditional style helped a lot in that area. Now that you are training in a more traditional environment your views will gradually change the way mine did. I came to show my love and respect for what I was learning by doing the very best that I could in every class. From my very first grading I hung my certificate on the wall. Looking at it reminded me that I had someting to look forward to. My certificates and belt rack gave me inspiration no matter how lousy I felt. Now I do a lot of research on my chosen addiction. And I am continually learning. That is How I express my love of karate.
  8. Welcome. I came in one day when I found this link on a search. And was so impressed I did the same thing you did. Promptly join. Come in often.
  9. Hello Hope to see many of your posts.
  10. Hello . Glad you like it.
  11. Hate to tell you this but, dog shows do have a loyal following. They do attract a lot of viewers.
  12. Nice looking house too. The last pic is the cutest. Is that your little girl? :pony:
  13. Ah, the memories we all have. It is true some of the most awe inspiring memories are the sounds. The sound I most remember is the sound of one of my first good punches when I got my first gi.
  14. Fur kids hun. Actually when my Mom had a minivan I allways felt strange getting in it. The seats allways had blankets or towels on them. Seems her dog is her most frequent passenger.
  15. My guesses submited. And I must say that was very difficult. Did anyone else roll di for guesses?
  16. I can't hear you; your actions are too loud.
  17. Many people spend a great part of their life looking for something. There are so many faiths out there. It becomes a bewildering morass at times. The only way to really find the right thing is to search. And to spend a lot of quiet time listening to what your inner self likes and dislikes about what you are learning.
  18. That is a new one on me. If you see a picture of one give us the link to go investigate please.
  19. First class after a test one time I was riding to class with sensei. Seems he had "lost" his black belt. Had no idea at all where it was. It finally turned up. Someone who was helping put things up afterward had somehow put in in a boxfull of sparring gear. There is more than one way to loose a belt.
  20. Traditional weapons of this type were carried in the belt. At the back. Carrying a concealed weapon though today, not such a good idea.
  21. Hi Voodoo just jump right in.
  22. :bawling:Gee I ride the bus I have a nice purple Jazzy though. With the lots of extra hi tech reflector tape trim. And they really do turn on a dime.
  23. Oh magnificent ones please rally I too am not knowledgeable about film lore. I am not all the way awake either.
  24. Okay it may not be the latest and greatest but - I finally won a game of Age of Empires. It took me 2 days but I finally won one. I think I just found yesterday. Does anyone else get carried away and loose all track of time when playing? Or just surfing on the net in general? Now after being up for 2 days I cannot go to sleep because I am seeing little blue and red figures. And fishing boats and those nasty catapaults. And those wagons. Those elusive little wagons. And those maginificent creations in the scenes without the artifacts. Pharoah never made me see things in my head guiet so badly as this. Is it me or i s it the game? Or am I just a bit batty?
