  1. You get what you pay for, buy a cheap sword and the quality will be cheap, buy a nice sword with good workmanship and you'll pay for it. All depends what you will be using it for. I would save up and buy a nice quaility sword if I were you.
  2. The Chiefs will blow their winning steak at 10-0. too much pressure. They do look good thou..
  3. I use alot of weight on my back leg so I can use a front leg kick. If you use what natually comes to you, that sould work. Playing around with various types of stances can change your training habits but I usually revert back to what I first learned.
  4. I was sick of lifting weights..... so I joined to learn how to become more flexible and self defence was something I was always interested in. I love it now..
  5. around one hour but I show up for a work out before, with other people for about 1/2 hr before class.
  6. We have about 20 regular Adults, another 15 who train on occasion. My intstructor is 5th Dan, training for 6th.
  7. The Matrix 3-the stunts are a bit unrealistic however, if you've followed it since the first one it was meant to be a 3 series film.
  8. Night Rider is a pretty neat show. Kit was pretty cool too. Chips was another good one, or Magnum PI. The A-team though, who else could have a gun fight and not kill anyone, and the hidden ramps during a chase scene... classic
  9. It's all in how the judge sees a jab or a kick. I have competed in a NASKA rule tournament. Positioning is key for this style of tournament. In my experience I was clearly connecting with some kicks and they weren't being scored. Try getting your opponent to have an open stance to the judges. This will usually mean that your back is to the judges. They will be able to see punches and kicks on your opponent easier. The Back fist ( or spinning while retreating) works awesome at these tournaments. Ask your Sensi about postioning in the ring and how he would score it too.

cool, Bare Knukle thou.... I like my face..lol, I'd like to compete in one but there are no club like that he in Canada
  11. That's cool, A higher level of competion is always good (if you don't get hurt). It'll make you a better fighter too. As for the National team.....who cares about that, if you beat em hard and clean- you kicked someones * from the national team. National Championships are an excellent way to learn new lessons. Even if you lose..... Good luck.
  12. McNab isn't a very good QB this year.....The initail tone of the statement was a little racist. By just calling him a bad QB would have been more appropriate. It doesn't matter if a person is black, white, yellow or poka dot. The pressure of being the best is hard for anyone competing in the NFL because every game is analized play by play. McNabb right now, isn't playing very good football, Rush Limbaugh did the right thing by resigning because his comments did offend many viewers of NFL Sunday. wrestlingkaratechamp17- Your right Brett farve sucks this year.
  13. The A-team is awesome, my girlfriend doesn't think so. Which old tV shows are your favorites. Mr. T and his gold is clasic...
  14. alittle Pantera- Walk is what gets me pumped or Old Metalica. Another cool song is- Mamma said Knock you out by LL Cool J. Victory songs, we will rock you, We are the champions- by Queen, and Paridise City- by G&R.
  15. The new Matrix is cool and Lord of the rings-Return of the King in DEC.
  16. Every now and then a cold beer is good, or wine with dinner, Hangovers suck thou, I personally drink once a month not to get drunk, just with dinner or at home with gf.
  17. We use lots of pading and our training is excellent. When we spar is is medium contact for senior belts because it just hurts if you go hard at each other all the time.It also leads to injury if you go real hard at each other. Other days it's like a game of tag, where we work on speed and control with no power. Mixing all the different forms of sparing is definatly good though. It all depends on the instructor, how he/she handles the club.
  18. The Cane is a cool art, it's something that I think I'll learn shortly
  19. 2 times a week at the dojo and 5 times a week at the gym.
  20. That is strange that it was broken up, just look at it this way, Learn from the past, to prepare for the future. Good luck in your training for the next one .
  21. Does anyone study the french cane? It's kinda a neat style for self defence.
  22. For those surfers check this site out: http://www.accesswave.ca/~mckennatkd/[/b]
  23. All 3 are good forms of training. I agree.
  24. First let me say that, I train at a real TKD School.... That allows punches to the face. I am competing in an open tournament to fight against a different style than my own. (to widen my range of fight experence) I love using hand technics because it opens things up for kick to the mid section and when then guard is down I go high. Thanks for the advice. The tournament is in Moncton N.B. Canada on Nov.15/03 (Montcon University) and is full contact. Underbelts are not allowed kicks to the head, but black belt is fair game.
