  1. tell the person you have aids or sars or some disease and youll bleed all over them, Guarantee that will detour at least half of your wouldbe thugs
  2. Yeah no doubt that would be the ultimate ego booster having a certificate on your wall that says you are a registered weapon. Hmmm I wonder where i can get one.
  3. yeah a lot of stances seem awkward, but they are very important keep very strict form and let you muscles ache and burn as they will grow stronger, you will be off balance but you will gain a better balance. Its all a part of training. After hard rigorous years of training... you will not need the awkward stance you will use a comfertable natural stance, a stance you have good balance with. Then you will have a solid foundation and will be much less likely to be thrown off balance.
  4. Just say your right, you could knock me out with a properly executed, powerful kick to the head. Let his ego be your advantage. Because then even if you do out spar him he will still think, but i could easily knock him out with a kick to the head. Mean while you keep on agreeing and keep on out sparring him.

    Mixing styles

That is an extremly good point. It makes you think. Also with learning a bunch of differnt styles especially the uncommon ones, lets say you end up moving to a small town or city they may not have anyone who teaches the same style. They may not recognise your techniques and you might be back to square one again as a white belt in a differnt style. Now if you learned one of the more common ones. Ie: Shotokan, ITKD, Judo, Western Boxing. Most places will have those and you can continue your training where you should be. Thats just my opinion.
  6. Im fairly certain at 3rd Dan in shotokan you do learn some grappling maybe even befor then.
  7. I never said she was 7 I said she was young. Once you have learned the proper technique to align the bones in your arms properly you lose a lot less power, this is why the karate reverse punch is very powerful because of the verticle fist, the metacarples align with radius and ulna in your forearm which gives you a better energy transfer, bareknucke boxers fought with a verticle fist as well. But either way breaking is mostly technique and has nothing to do with chi.
  8. http://kimsookarate.com/contributions/breaking-bricks/ruffino.jpg
  9. its physics like i said befor bricks are stronger ie: can hold weight better then bones. however bricks are far more brittle then bones, and can not with stand the same impact. Of course a person has to have the right technique to break. But lets say you have a flat piece of steel about the same lenth as a breaking board but about 1/16th of an inch thick, just a standard flat piece of steel. If you hit it, it will not break it may bend and absorb the impact like a bone, much better then a bone im not trying to say bones are as strong as steel. Now lets freeze the piece of metal with liquid nitrogen get it ver very very cold. Now hit it and watch it shatter, the metal is more brittle and could not withstand the impact. I think i have a picture of a young girl breaking a brick, ill have to find it. And post it.
  10. If you developed a god hand it wouldnt matter, but good luck developing that.
  11. Which martial art has the most frequent competions in north america, I dont mean MMA events.
  12. I honestly admire shotkan_fighter's one sideness, Im trying boxing and others right now im looking for something that suits me i have some past grappling experience and grappling will certainly whip you into shape. Hat's off to you Shotokan, you show lots of focus.
  13. try and find BJJ, I think it is one of the more exciting arts for a begginer. The reason why is a lot of Karate and Taekwon do schools you dont do a lot of sparring right off the bat so it can get rather boring punching kicking and blocking air, over and over again. I think most would agree with me you dont get into the real exciting stuff untill youve reached the higher color belts. In BJJ one of the main things begginers want to do is make a bluebelt submit. When your a white belt in BJJ you will get worked over by the higher belts and this gets very frustrating but you are learning by experiencing it takes a long time to advance through BJJ but I think for a begginer it will present you with the most "hands on experience"
  14. I read the article it makes sense with enough power and speed behind a throw on conreate would probably really hurt someone. And in the sport as well you would use the same throw but 1. your opponent knows how to fall, and 2.you generally help the guy down.
  15. You presented no factual evidence to back your claim besides a quote from dictionary.com. Just some friendly advice, in the future please present us with your argument rather then just basicly saying no youre wrong. A fine example from this post would be when I said the US army taught BJJ to it soldiers...you claimed the US military did not teach BJJ and to show you where in the manual it showed a BJJ technique. I gave you the link to the manual, and went even further then that providing you with pictures and information specificlly from that document on this forum.
  16. no doubt overtraining, your diet is fine, if you add any more calories then that you might be putting on too much fat, like i said staying hard while trying to get bigger is really really hard. Try a power lifting routine something similar to mine for 3 months only working out like twice a week maybe 3 times and dont do any cardio, you will gain quite a bit, then go back to your old routine to burn off the fat. telsun-pics, ill have to look im in the process of moving right now
  17. Im a grappler. Id probably just do a double leg take down as fast as possible, make it almost look like a tackle. Then Id be on the ground and Id choke him out. Seems to work well for Royce Gracie.
  18. I never can, Im to impatient. Not a good thins when it comes to martial arts im always like OH but I want to Learn more!!! NOW!!!!
  19. When i was 14 I was in really good shape pre-competition i was 140lbs. I never did end up competeing but thats another thread. I struggled for a long time tring to gain weight I worked out 5 times a week for about 2 hours each day. I could never get passed 145-148. I had been weightlifting for about 2 years and i was still the same, a lot stronget a lot more ripped but I wanted some mass. I did the diet thing wrong some say. But this is what worked for me. Monday: Bench Press and Curls. Both done at Heavy weights only did 3 reps for about 10 sets on each exercise. Wednesday: Squats Done at heavy weights only did 3 reps for about 20 sets. Friday:Dead Lifts and Military Press Done at Heavy weights only did 3 reps for about 10 sets on each exercise. As for the "wrong diet" I ate everythign I possibly could I ate untill I felt like I was going to puke then as soon as i didnt feel sick and bloated I ate more. I didnt use protein or creatine just Ate and Ate and Ate. I put on 50 lbs in 2 months. Put on 30 lbs of muscle and 20 lbs of fat. I had stretch marks on my shoulders, bicepts, lats and I still have faint ones on My chest along the seperations of the upper and lower pectoralis muscles. granted I lost my six pack and got a belly when I was at 200 now im 180 and sit between 9-11% body fat. Lots of guys dont want to lose that ripped look but JUST putting on lean muscle is really really hard, a lot harder then just packing on the mass and losing the fat afterwords. But in my above post try and let me know what your doing as I may be able to help.
  20. How often do you work out ? Whats your schedual ? tell me generally how many reps and sets you do per exercise. ANd what exercises you do. How much do you weigh now now and how long have you been lifting ? So far your diet and caloric intake seems perfect, nothing wrong with the diet part.
  21. lets say you practiced karate everyday for a year really really hard. or lets say you practiced judo everyday for a year really really hard. You would be able to defend yourself equally as good in either situation. With Karate youd be good at striking with Judo youd be good at grappling, what do you like to do more strike or grapple?
  22. People Play baseball ,people play soccer. Nobody plays boxing. Discounting boxing as a Martial Art doesnt make sense. Art in my opinion is something that is creative something that you can express yourself in. I think Many Karate-Ka would agree with me that when they practice ,it is an expression of themselves and some would even say its more then that. People can also express themselves through boxing, it may be differnt then Karate but on that level they share more things in common then they differ.
  23. Gracie JiuJitsu http://w3.blackbeltmag.com/halloffame/html/210.html The very last sentence reads. Black Belt presents him with its Man of the Year award for his outstanding contribution to the martial arts. OH MY GOSH BUT HOW CAN THAT BE !!!!! According to Xerziz Brazilian JiuJitsu is not a martial Art ! Yet the biggest Martial Arts Magazine awards Heilio Gracie with its Man of the Year Award for his contribution to Martial Arts.
  24. oh look heres a classic BJJ technique http://www.adtdl.army.mil/cgi-bin/atdl.dll/fm/3-25.150/image939.jpg I dont think I need post any more pics, or try and prove that the US Army teaches BJJ to its soldiers. I think there is enough evidence right there.
  25. you can find this one in chapter 4 a. North-South Position (Figure 4-1). This position allows many possible attacks and is very difficult for the enemy to escape from. You should attempt to control the enemy's arms by placing your elbows on the ground in his arm pits. You will also need to shift your weight in order to prevent him from rolling you over. http://www.adtdl.army.mil/cgi-bin/atdl.dll/fm/3-25.150/fig4-1.gif
