  1. What's so hard about killing someone without spilling blood?
  2. Here's a compromise, blend the two... "It is my opinion that you are wrong."
  3. Kickboxing? Cardio kickboxing? Obese nerds at a local gym trying to lose the pounds so they'll have a chance with Queen Amidala? Hey.. just as fair of a statement. No offense to anyone (that makes it all better, doesn't it?) "Karate" is a general term. Muay Thai (at least the way it's taught in the US) is more of a "narrowed down" style, and not a category of martial art with hundreds of subordinate styles. Karate is more diverse than Muay Thai here in the US, meaning, a "karate" dojo is not always similar to the one next to it. But yes, I've noticed this with some Karate dojos. Some TKD dojos. I've made the same observations at a Kickboxing place, even though they didn't call it "cardo kickboxing". And now, unfortunately, my very own Kenpo school has turned into one. Grr. I think I'll finish up a year and pursue my interests elsewhere.
  4. That one that was in the Fox show "24"? Yeah, don't know her name, but man I'd love to have her by my neighbor.
  5. Resting for a week or two won't do you any harm. Give it a try.
  6. When you're "toned" without being "hunky", you're skinny and weak. If you're "toned" and "hunky", you're skinny and strong. But there are always extremes... how "hunky" is hunky?
  7. Yeah, those worm things that shoot electricity piss me off.
  8. I'd say this only works for video games. If I'm trying to defeat a boss, I'll try to find "predictable movements" and exploit them. It's very effective, especially when I'm playing "Ninja Gaiden" on my friend's Xbox. But uh... don't use your inductive reasoning skills in a real fight too much.
  9. Why not just try and get both?
  10. Lol.. Congrats, Delta. Love reading your posts and your insights on American Kenpo
  11. Muay Thai fighters are good, let's leave it at that. ....What makes you think that?
  12. I forgot the artist who sings it.. but it goes.. Headstrong, I'll take you on Headstrong, I'll take on anyone.
  13. Not if you do it right If you look into her eyes like this.. she'll just go.. but if you're suave and you do it like this.. she'll go.. S o, have any examples of when you've used this method?
  14. ...That might creep them out, too.
  15. I think that's a waste of time. Why predict their movements from distance A, when you're going to be doing the important fighting from distance B? People fight differently from different distances. He might be a Tae Kwon Do fighter when he's 5 feet away from you, but if you close in he might suddenly clinch you and turn into a Muay Thai fighter, and if you're really unlucky, he'll turn into a Brazillian Jui Jitsu fighter and treat you like a rag doll. I hate you grapplers so much If anything, I think the method you're talking about will help you determine how skilled the fighter is. Observe his footwork, his stance, his physical prowess, quickness, and so on. From there, search for weak spots and openings. When you see an opening, explot it. Or if you're a really confident fighter, make him open up. But, heh, don't think about it too much, either. Maybe I'm missing the point. Maybe that's what you meant to say afterall? But I don't think I really understand what you mean by "predictable movements". Unless he's a really inexperienced fighter, or just an idiot, he's not going to have a set pattern of moves. Kick, kick, punch, block. Kick, kick, punk, block. Kick, kick, puch, block. ...?
  16. Have you even tried searching?
  17. Pretty much what I listen to normally.. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Offspring, and Nirvana. But what really gets me going is seeing guys that are stronger than me, lol. I guess I'm pretty competitive.
  18. Get a jacket, and sew a patch on?
  19. Rachael Leigh Cook (Josie & The Pussycats).. yeah, she's gorgeous.
  20. ...he clearly stated that it was his opinion. if you were to ask him. Besides, the definition of Chi is an opinion anyway. It's not a fact. Therefore, there's not a static definition. It's an opinion. Some opinions are less popular than others. I agree with DM's opinion.
  21. Female - Jessica Alba. Horrible actress, though. Male - Matt Damon. I only say this because people always tell me I resemble him.
  22. Here's something you can think about, Karategurl.. There's really no way you can spend more time on an activity, and less time on God. Your hobbies, talents, etc. are not separate from God, unless they are sinful. Since sin is the only thing that can separate you from God. Do you believe practicing martial arts to be a sin? Does your mother? There's a great article (and discussion afterwards) that tackles this question in the Articles section of the forum. Read that and make up your mind and see if it correlates with the Bible. God uses your surroundings to shape you. Maybe God wants you to do martial arts so that you will build confidence, or simply learn how to defend yourself, because that need may arise. God doesn't always directly affect you, he specifically gave you your parents and your friends to help shape you into the person that he would like you to become. In a nutshell, God works through other people, events, circumstanes to teach you lessons, help you get through something and help build your faith. Praying and going to church isn't the only time you're spending with God. If you help someone out with their Alg. 2 homework, you're pleasing God. If you're simply outside and enjoying nature, his creation, you're pleasing God. If you think taking martial arts is a good tool to develop yourself, make yourself healthy, and (God forbid) help you defend yourself against an attacker, so that you can continue to carry the personal plan that he has for you (whatever that may be), then good for you! Now that I think I've made my point quite clear as to how activities and spending time with God kind of go hand in hand, I'd like to make one more point... It all depends on your mindset. If you believe what you are doing is God's will and you strive to do God's will, then it's good. Once you start doing it for selfish reasons, then you're in trouble. You should read John, he talks a Lot about this sort of thing. Hope that helps. And I really need to make an outline before I write posts, they're just not concise at all. Oh yes, and lastly, first and foremost, "Honor thy Father and thy Mother"
  23. That's convenient.
  24. I want to see someone fight with Chi in a UFC/Pride competition. It would be easy money, wouldn't it?
  25. Yeah, it sucks, badly. If the girl still wants to be friends after the break up, don't let that happen. It's messy. I hope things go well with you, man.
