  1. Oh, I forgot.. The Truman Show!
  2. Wasn't there a man in Florida (can't really remember) that went into a grocery store with a katana, and started chopping people to pieces?
  3. Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption as well, Equilibrium, and Saving Private Ryan. I tend to lean toward the action side
  4. Isn't that where Hank Hill lives?!
  5. Welcome to KF. *Tips cowboy hat*
  6. Hm... I haven't following soccer since I moved to the US. How's Kroazia doing?
  7. Aaaawwww.. Crap, where's the cupid emoticon?
  8. Yeah, when you practice forms or techniques, do them slowly and pay close attention to precision. Also, as for drawing, that doesn't have much to do with hand-eye coordination, it has more to do with how your brain operates.
  9. Haha, 7 guys? Fighting infront of your girlfriend? I don't blame you for being scared. No, don't quit.
  10. catching things And drawing? I'm not really sure what you meant by "catching things until drawing" ..
  11. *static* Bravo, report in, we have a possible feminist in the making *static*
  12. Martial Arts, directly, hasn't influenced me that much. My training was more of a catalyst to improvement (mostly physical). Well, I am a lot more flexible.. and that's only due to MA. In Character development, hm, well I've got more confidence when it comes to beating people up Other than that, I really don't think it changed me much. But I think I remember I made a thread a long time ago about how martial arts changed me so much, but as I look back on it, I really don't think it did. I don't know, I may be a complete hypocrite but not even aware of it.
  13. Aaanyway, I completely ignored your original question. I've never heard of Bok Fu, but it's mentioned on a few forums and very few websites. Apparently it stems from Shaolin Kung Fu?
  14. From that sentence alone, I would turn away completely. Also, devastatingly practical, what the hell? Just say devastating, practical and complete. Now that's marketing
  15. Best: None, my first concert WOULD have been Switchfoot, but my stupid friends didn't let me know about it soon enough. Worst: Gustav Holst's Nine Planest performed by some Colorado Philharmonic Orchestra or something. The music was great, I have the CD for it. The part I couldn't stand was sitting in the same position for 2 hours (that's what it seemed like, at least). I couldn't stand the person I was going with but it was a polite offer so I didn't have the guts to refuse. Then, after it was over, my friend and his father mixed up among a few friends of theirs and created a little social circle where they talked about world peace, politics (which I don't mind, unless the people conversing are completely ignorant of the subject matter) and spiritual enlightenment. Not to mention, they were a bunch of arrogant snobs that seemed to believe they belonged on the same level as Confucius and Socrates. But I fit in just fine, all I had to do was say, "well, I'm originally from Switzerland.." and from there it can leak into just about any topic of conversation. Edit: Edit: Edit: Edit: ..I should really edit BEFORE I hit the Submit button.
  16. I wish I could train at a place like that. My dojo isn't nearly that hard on you, they will push you (to your own personal limits) a bit, but nothing like that. Unless you make friends with the right guys and let the instructors know that you're no softie.. then it's a different story. One of our instuctors who's pretty young went to a Muay Thai (or Krav Maga.. I really have a terrible memory) training camp in California where they trained pretty hard from 7 to 5 or something like that. Fought full contact, etc. He came back with a two missing front teeth, and he told us stories of several other injuries.
  17. Remember, Mart, England got beat by the French ...twice!
  18. Jackie Chan.. he's the best entertainer. Plus, sure.. his acrobatic martial arts moves will never work on the "street".. but they're very original and fun to watch.
  19. Well, the free version is completely free I think you can purchase software products, etc. But other than that, nope.
  20. Does Kyusho Jitsu solely rely on pressure points to subdue an opponent, or do you learn and apply strikes, throws, locks as well?
  21. That area already takes enough abuse as it is.
  22. You could also beat yourself bloody with a large stick every evening (or if you have a pretty sick friend..), that would condition you to take a block with just about every body part imaginable.
  23. ..how's that? :/ I've been stretching a Lot, but I can still lift the same amount of weight and reps and (though my hand doesn't have a speedometer) I punch just as fast and powerfully.
  24. Welcome to KF At the beginning, I had problems adjusting too. The weirdest part was re-learning to fight with my right foot forward (primarily) instead of my left foot forward. Techniques were a pain, terribly awkward, but only at first. Don't worry, your instructor shouldn't become impatient with you, I doubt you're the only beginner he's ever trained Just be eager to learn and ambitious.
