  1. yeah - thats a good one thanks for the laugh.
  2. because it would be easier to find a dojo teaching the style when i know what to look for.
  3. by the way, the style i was looking for wasnt TSD. i got one more hint: its japanese dont know whether its one of the karates u guys mentioned...
  4. he is neither an athlete nor very flexible. its my sportsteacher in school he thinks he is right about anything and does not wish to discuss things.
  5. very interesting! thanks doug!!
  6. welcome to KF!

  8. welcome to KF!
  9. yeah - probably i should but maybe some filipino stick art would pose a better point to start.
  10. welcome to the forums
  11. its a clear sign for being established when there are national associations in different countries.
  12. hmhm - i checked it out but it does not really help me much. actually the best information so far is that its kinda similar to TKD things that i wanted to know were whether those who study TSD consider it good for selfdefense, good to keep u in shape, what the weapon training consists of and what kinds of techniques are involved.
  13. congratulations
  14. what is a hanbo? and for how long have u been doing swords and for what purpose? r u training sparring duels with armor and stuff? or do u cut melons that r thrown at u? cut through somekind of dummies or straw? or do u just practice froms or technique?
  15. could anyone please tell me something about Tang Soo Do? i know very few and every info might help. most important to me is what it emphasises on, whether it gets me into shape and what the techniques r like. thanks in advance.
  16. anyone around believes in miracles? well i do - thanks to tommarker one of the schools mentioned are very close to my position. damn close. i even think of attending regular training in one of them. but since i already found a very cool tkd dojo i am going to check that one out first. if tkd does not suit me, i will go visit the other one right next thank u very much indeed!!!
  17. i dont think that there are many dojos that teach Koryu Bujutsu Samurai fighting arts in germany, not to mention how many of them are in my area (where they lack dojo on the whole), while there is a ninjutsu dojo in one of the cities i might go to university. as long as it aint required to master all of the weapons in Budo Taijutsu i guess it is a good choice cause the is very interesting to me.
  18. is it required to learn them all or r u allowed to choose some of them that u wish to practice/master?
  19. i didnt know that there is staff training and multiple opponent defense in Tang Soo Do (i didnt know much about TSD at all ). i assume the dojos u know are in the bigger cities and none of them is near enough to attend regular training. If u knew any in Nordrhein Westphalen (my "state"), it might help cause i might go to univerisity in some of the cities here. if they had websites, if would be close to perfect!
  20. thanks alo @ shore; i will do a search in case these filipino arts are a somewhat good point to start out.
  21. just one more thing is an armor required for any purpose? since i am only 17 i dont have my own income and cant spend too much money on martial arts.
  22. thanks all for the information and special thanks to Tal, very generous but i think i know enough for the moment to go and try out kendo class when u should ever have the opportunity!
