In my opinion,I wouldn't advise it. bad things could happen! Awhile ago, I trained with my girlfriend at the same dojo.I was an assistant instructor there at the time and asked my girlfriend if she wanted to come to class and check it out, she liked it and started training a couple days later. Years later, she had reached brn belt and was very good at it . My best friend at the time was also an instructor and we hung out all the time together. One night I went to pick my girlfriend up from work and noticed that my friend was also there talking to her,I didnt really think to much about it but as time went on, it was regularly happening.I mean, every night sorta thing. To make a very long story short, he was trying to put the mack on her. I confronted her about the matter and she said that it had been anoying her also but she didnt want to tell me because she didnt want me to stomp my friend into the ground. After my talk with my shady friend, we went are seperate ways to avoid conflict but still trained at the dojo together. Then a few months later, I caught her cheating on me with some 40yr old punk. She was 20yrs old! When I found that guy and her together,it was not pretty. I snatched that guy out of his car by his neck and about that same time, she gets out and tries to fight me! I couldnt belive it, I mean, Im her teacher,what... did she think she could really take me? After this all cleared up or so I thought, she comes back to the dojo and started to train again. Talking all kinds of smack to me,trying to get my head instructor mad at me. It didn't work but still, she was unbelivablly evil, like I never even knew her to begin with. To this day, i've never ever been through so much * as I did when I was with her. I know that was a long story but I had to get that of my shoulders. I'm sorry if that was a little too detailed for everyone but when I seen the topic I had to speak up. Thanks for listening.

Post good Ninja movies here please.
Davison replied to Jbone1's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
The only ninja movies that I thought were decent are sho kosugi s movies . Revenge Of The Ninja Pray For Death Ninja three, The Domination Enter The Ninja Back in the 80's when I was growing up ,these movies used to pump me up .They looked so real to me back then, but now being alot older , I can see threw the B.S ! The're still fun to watch from time to time. You can probly find them on Amazon.com. -
vito, what happens when you are fighting more than one person on the street? don't get me wrong, I like BJJ also but On the street and on the mat are two different things. some one would probly get hurt if they took somebody to the ground to fight and the guys friend comes over and kicks him in the face. I know that bjj also teaches some stand up but the majority is groundwork.

Lamonica shihan does teach Hakko denshin ryu now but until 1998 and 1999 it was Hakko ryu. It is not westernized at all. It is just modified to roll with the times. Even in original Hakko ryu, they still teach strikes and grappling. Its all purely for defense, thats what it is all about.Lomonica shihan is my shihan's instructor and I have trained with sensei Lominica A couple of times. We have had descussions about this and it comes down to Japan asking way too much money to be affiliated with honbu dojo in omiya city Japan and also that they are set in their ways of teaching. The orginal system was made up from systems and techniques of the fuedal era of Japan, samurai had to learn these techniques because they were designed for persons with armor on and could not easily move on the battlefield. The techniques were basic and right to the point ,designed for spear and sword defense. In todays time not very many people are going to be attacked with a sword or spear .The system had to be changed to adjust with the flow of things. So in a sense, same but different.

capital,I dont know if this helps, considering that you live in Virgina, but Ive been studying a traditional system of tjj called Hakkoryu for 13 yrs and for what you want out of a system ,thats exactly what it implies. My dojo is very traditional and my instructor is in my opinion, the best anywhere around in my area. There are Hakkoryu dojos scattered throughout the US. Video training in this system probly wouldn't be very helpful, this system takes time to learn correctly and requires instruction face to face. There is a dojo in Akron ohio that is awesome.Micheal J Lomonica is the the north american director. You can find info on this on the web but I don't know the site.hope this helps .

sevenstar, where do you think the three forms of jujutsu were derived from?after the fuedal japan ara and the samurai where put out of bis the only way for them to make a living was to teach their familys systems of ma.such names as tenshin shinyoryu and kitoryu are family names of their systems, maybe some are older than others but it is all jujutsu in general.if not,i would like to hear where and what system jujutsu was based on.the jujutsu,s throws and reaps had to come from some where just as judo,s throws and reaps came from jujutsu.some say that it all came from sumo.i dont claim to be a jappanesse history major or anything,so i might be wrong or might be right but kano sensi surely didnt create judo as fast as he could just to be effective.his system is to intricate to be put together in a fast manor, there iwas no reason for him to have to hurry to create it.it wasnt like he was prepareing for battle or anything.

it depends on the twins, maybe one will work harder at it then the other,or maybe one is in better shape or more motivated than the other.judo was derived from daitoryu akikjujutsu with now is pretty much tjj.Jigoro Kano is judos founder and was vary experienced in a varitity of ma.he took the throws from aikijutsu and basically created his own system.why do you seem so concerned with time?no matter what art you study, you will never be able to gain maxium results with minimal time spent training.keep in mind that the greatest martial artists have made it a life long journey.

i dont live their but my sword instructor does.his name masauki shimaborkuru.he teaches muso jikkden isshinryu iaijutsu.9th dan from japan.
