What would be the way to attaining world peace?
-
A couple of nights ago, I had a bizare dream that I was driving down a road and saw a hitch hiker wanting a ride. When I picked him up, I noticed that it was leatherface from the texas chainsaw massacre movies. What was weird was he started to tell me about all of his problems and wanted my opinion on the matters. After that, I remember both of us laughing. It was one of the weirdest dreams I have had in a long time.

I think it depends on the local laws pertaining to large breed dogs in the city were you live.Where I live, there are a lot of people fighting their pitbulls and there have been a lot of pit attacks on young children,as well as police officer's. Being a former animal control officer, I have been asked about the muzzle question many times and all i can say is that when you muzzle your dog, it takes most of the fear away from people when they come in contact with your large breed dog and if thats what it takes to ease people's stereotype of big dogs than so be it. When you muzzle your dog,you are not being mean to them. The dog doesn't know the difference and when you use positive reinforcement to teach them to wear it,it becomes fun for them. My rott will go and get his muzzle if I ask him to because he know's that we are going to go outside and play. Some people just will never understand because they have never had experience with a big dog. I also think it depends on if your dog has been socialized around other dogs and around people. Any way you look at it, a dog always will have the potential to bite, even if you think your dog would never do that. I love my dogs and would do any thing for them but I know that there is always that chance that they might attack someone if they feel its nessecary.

Davison replied to 15-lisa-newbie's topic in Karate
What karate words are you having trouble with? I'm sure everyone here will help out but could you be more specific? Also, there is a karate forum on this site that you might try and post this same question on. -

Sounds like that instructor is a few frys short of a happy meal !!! A little coo coo for coco puffs if ya know what I mean. -
I know what you mean, Sevenstar. I guess I just would like to see what would happen if there was a mma event that was totally a no holds barred event. I think it's just that I loved the older UFC events when no one really knew what it was, It's too mainstream for me now.I liked it better when anyone could sign up to fight in the UFC . It seems that now you have to be a "pro" just to get a chance.Back then,if you thought you were good anough, you were given the chance.

Sevenstar, I understand saftey just fine. As far as entering a mma event, I don't have anything to prove to anybody.I fight for self defense purposes only, for the safety of myself, for others in need of help and for my country. You say "trust me,size matters", Have ever fought in the UFC or other like events? As far as the "Ironheart" event and asking to fight in two weight classes above my own, I don't think that would work considering I'm weighing in just under 300 lbs.I personally could care less if I had to fight someone bigger than me,It wouldn"t be the first time and certainly won't be the last time either. As far the pride event goes, thats fine but i'm not talking about the pride,i'm talking about the UFC.The bottom line is there will never be a true "ULTIMATE FIGHTER" as long as there is rules and regulations,...thats probably why they call it a sport.

I have a 55 gallon tank, a 30 gallon tank, a 20 gallon long tank and two 10 gallon tanks. I even have a 2 1/2 gallon tank that I used to have a fire belly newt in,but he died.In my 55 gallon,I have white sand in it with a huge algea eater that has survived nemorous piranha attacks,a expencive fish called a mono, and acouple cichlids. I used to have a dragon eel,two peacock eels, and a bright blue crayfish but they recently died.I love fish tanks!!! -
I think bruce lee would have done very well in events like the UFC. I think even if he was fighting a fighter that liked to fight from the ground, the grappler better not mess up or bruce would hit him so hard and fast that there would be no more fight to it. Also, he was a very smart person when it came to the martial arts, that if he thought that he was fighting a grappler , he probly would switch up on his strategy to win the fight. He was very fast on his toes and could likely avoid being taken to the ground. All I know is that I don't think anyone knowing what he was capable of,would want to be hit by him. It would be like fighting mike tyson,You know that he is not a very afficent grappler but if he hits you, thats it ,lights out.

I really liked it back in the first ufc events when there wasn't so many rules. Now days, it has an unreal amount of rules and regulations. I don't think there should be any weight classes, I mean, if you want to be the toughest in the sport, you couldn't really say that ,because your only fighting in your weightclass. If you really wanted to know who's the toughest,it shouldn't matter. When you set up a weight restriction, its like their saying size matters and I don't belive that, I think it's all in how you've trained and how much of a fighting mentality you possess. Also, now you can't hit them or kick them if their on the ground and your standing,I don't agree with that either,a fight is a fight any way you look at it.Who's to say that the fighter on the ground receiving the kick couldn't be setting the striker up the trap the attack and counter. I'll stop there because I could go on and on about the rules and regulations. I 've lost most of my respect for that event now days,It's a disappointment.

Man How Misinformed is the Public on MA!!!!!
Davison replied to Samurai Shotokan's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I think it is a good thing that the general public is so misinformed, it gives us martial artists the element of surprise. You might have a guy who wants to fight you and trys to do some high flying Van Damme kick and you can just snatch him out of the air and toss him to the ground for a stomping! -
I've never heard it. Maybe when you go check the classes out, you can ask the instructor about what kind of system it is.

I'n todays time, its hard to find a legit iron fan, ones that you see in the magizines are not for fighting.chinese have their own kind as well as the japanese. "Tessen waza"or iron fan techniques are very affective. I had the privledge a few months ago to learn 7 different kata with the fan.I was impressed. When closed, those things hurt like hell when you get hit by them.My wrist was sore for weeks.Depending on if the fan is open and is set with a blade edge, they can do some serious cutting damage

I would prefer throwing a knife. shuriken in the old days in Japan were usually poison tipped. The idea was not to assume that it would kill their opponent but to puncture the skin and cause disease from the poison. In that time in life, battles probly took place days away from any kind of immediate medical treatment and by the time the person reached such place, an fatal infection was already taking place.

I have a 6 yr old full blooded pit bull named Garcia,a full blooded rott named chief, he's 5 yrs old and I have a 9 month old 1/2 pit 1/2 rott pup named bailey. Nine months ago, I worked as an animal control officer and got a call about a guy who was drowning his female pit's pups in water. I arrived on seen and could not find the guy responsible so I took a look around in his backyard.I found a female pit tied to a tree with no shelter and on a three foot chain. I let her off of the chain and she ran over to her dog house that was about ten feet away from where she was tied up. She stuck her head in the dog house and started to cry. When I looked in the dog house, I found 5 four week old pups.I transported all of the puppys to my vehicle and went back to the dog house because the mom would not come with me to my van. When I got to the dog house, the mom ran over to the side of the dog house and scratched at a five gallon bucket full of water. I looked inside the bucket and there was pup trying to swim.his little nose was only out of the water by about an 1/2 inch. I grabed the little pup and wrapped him up in my shirt and took to my van. The mom jumped up into the passenger side and I took them to the humane society. A few months later, I had got all of the pups adopted to good homes and I adopted the one in the bucket!!! I also had the owner arrested for animal crultey. I think it was my destiny to find my new dog,I think he was ment for me.

I'd have to say Dimmu Borgir or Slayer. I don't really have a certain favorite band, I love anything hard core.

Worst martial arts movie?
Davison replied to Grenadier's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I think the worst movie would have to be T2000 staring billy blanks, it's aweful.I also agree about gymkata,I grew up watching that terrible movie. I could not stand the guys in the bad ninja uniforms. -
In regard to your question proskater, i've never seen anything of that sort. It could be some thing your friend made up,some sort of fake document. I work in law enforcement and there is nothing in Illinois law that states that you have to register as a lethal weapon. I don't know about any place else either that requires that also. I know that when the judge is presented with the info on the case, depending on the circumstances and the harm done, he might take into account that you had martial arts expierence to determine the sevarity of your actions.

I have not either but I've heard good things about it. He's a accomplished grappler according to all the stuff i've seen in the mags.
