Stuck in the mud!
Another thought with the flyers post them on bulletin boards around the town. Create a facebook page for free webpage for your school then share it with your friends who shares it with their friends. That sucks to not have funds for advertising have to resort to free means then. I wish you luck. Businesses are in hard times now of days.

Stuck in the mud!
I am not instructor my self yet this problem is almost a business problem as much as a martial arts problem. 1. If you have any funds advertise. (find your focus group and put it in tv, internet, radio, or newspaper.) 2. Offers: Introductory offers normally pull people in. 3. Discounts: offer discounts to school kids or homeschool kids. Now I know a few of these sound mcdojo things yet there is a business side of everything. There is more things to do yet I can think of them at this time and it looks like they are covered by others. I wish you luck in.

Kung-fu Panda
Never thought about it. Love the movies. I know most time animators use real world models for their animation and moves. Idk if this one does.

New Self defense weapon for women?
Yeah. I caught part of the news story. Thank you! It seems to be an interesting idea though for female self defense.

New Self defense weapon for women?
Its a knife that women can carry on a walk that is disguised in the front of the bra. I can't remember the name. My local news had an article on them.

What makes someone a great martial artist?
I know I may get hate for this. What makes someone great is for a group of people to believe a person is great. It's a perception of the mind.

Fundies attacking martial arts, help.
There are people whoes minds will never be changed. These are such. Don't worry about them and do what you feel is right for yourself. If this effects anyone you know learn about it so you can be at the ready to counter their points.

Video Gamers
All good Patrick. Maybe should have worded that differently. Should have went with martial arts instead of karate and some how included those that don't do either. Sorry about that. Streaming not interest you Patrick? What kind of things did you like to watch when you get linked?

Thoughts
It could be a good teaching moment. Just remember to be respectful.

Is training in public places a good idea?
For room reasons I normally train my bo Katas and Open hand katas in my backyard in the summer. Just don't have room in my house anymore. I like training on the dirt because it gives you more experience on movement on different surfaces. A few from my dojo have thought about training in the park or something yet we all have the same concerns. I would say learn your local laws on the subject. Pay attention to where and who is around you and those you train with. Pick a good location.
