I agree, I once tried to find a website that has nunchaku technique and kata diagrams on it so that I could study from home. This is because I couldn't make it to Sensei Tobias_Reece's Kobudo lesson on a saturday morning. I had no luck finding them!

I myself enjoy music in a warm up, but I have discovered that after a discussion with many senior members of the karate school, the adults do not favour much in music for warm ups! I have also discovered that the kiddies(and myself) find it fun and put more effort into what they do when there is music on!

On a program called 'Masters of Combat', I don't know if anybody here has seen it, they had a Taekwondo team on it, they had a breaking challenge, the boards were situated in a number of positions, and people were breaking them with Butterfly kicks, and jumping back spinning heel kicks, looked really amazing.

So San Park Jong Soo upper back Early 70's 58 Knee Malaysia L-Stance Yom Chi Master Lee Wong Kuk A lot of these are just guesses, and a few are things that I think would make more sense, I have actually had a long hard thought about it without the use of resources. This is to test my general Knowledge on the spot!

On my green to purple white belt test about a 18-20 months back, I double graded and passed with a %62 I think, that was the best grading mark I have ever got.And it was a double grading, Imagine if it was a single belt grading! The most important thing now Jackl is that you have passed, on upward the ladder to greatness you go.Congrats again!

Yes, It goes back to what I have been taling about in another thread, Being first off the mark with a fast technique will do either or Both of the following, 1) Score a point fast in the early seconds of the round 2) Intimidate your opponent into thinking that he has no chance of winning Going back to what was said earlier, this only works once, so instead of being first off the mark with one technique, try it with another, if it doesn't work go for the defensive method to start with, this way the opponent will get into a state of attack and drop his guard, thats when you find a spot and then STRIKE!!!!

Yes, I have now, since I am a higher grade realised that the same techniques in kumite, like the mawashi geri, are dangerous(point sacrificing) if not done with efficient speed and accuracy.Thats why I practise that kick the most. Try to mawashi geri on something hard or rough surfaced, This will automatically make your leg snap back because your body is rejecting the pain that it oculd be expieriencing, while conditioning your body!

Sparring techniques

I definitley agree with what you have to say there Jiggy9, its all about state of mind, If you are in it and are overconfident about winning, you may not win, because you don't have the fuel of eagerness backing you up. This is also something that Tobias_Reece was talking about in class to me. The more confident you are about it, the less chance you have to win.He also told me never to doubt myself either, this creates a less of a winning state of mind, If you odubt yourself, you will think that it is worthless even putting in an ounze of effort. I always try to be first off the mark, this intimidates your opponent and could win you the early points that could win you the match. Going back to what you said, Jiggy9. Taisabacki is an excellent point scoring method in competitions, BUT, you have to make sure that you do not let your opponent get too used to what you are doing, instead of all the time using body evasion with a reverse punch, try body evasion with a kick to the head, here scoring a full point, instead of only just a half point. Why get elss when the oppertunity is there to get more. Anyway, sorry for babbling on and on. C Ya -
I have learned Nijushiho in class a few weeks back, I found it not too difficult to learn, but the problem arose when trying to perform it well. I had a hard time understanding the moderation of power and focus in certain techniques, I ended up doing the soft focused ones fast and powerfull, and the fast and powerfull ones, softly and focused. I had a very hard time learning Enpi. But once I had learned it and run through it a couple of times, I was ok and relatively used to it, and can perform it well.
