    A Question

    Thanx Karate-Ka
  11. The Simpsons and Futurama is very funny.
  12. For the amazing and fun tae Bo sessions with Tobias Reece, things like Firewire and other hous emmusic and trance is good for things like that because it is dynamic and mixes well with the atmosphere. For pad and bag work some R&B is good for me because it being my favourite type of music I feel more comfortable with it. For Forms that I preform slow things like dance music are good, or even oriental music is good for the feel. For prepping for a competition I would like to have (not had it before) things like AAliyah and other R&B artists like Pink!
  13. I think that them feats were amazing, but one thing. I also think that the legend has surpassewd the man. With him dying itn has put images in peoples minds about what he could do and what he woulod be able to do now, and people imagine him doing the craziest of things. If he was alive today I think he would have retired early and lived the rest of his life away from the martial arts!
  14. With there being Bo of different lengths, are the kata still the same?
  15. I have never heard of it being new to the weapons side of things, can you give us a brief description of what it looks like please SaifightsMS?
  16. Shotokan Karate is based on the One Hit One Kill method. This is why there are very deep stances, and hips are very important. The deep stances generate a strong foundation for movement during techniques such as Gyaku Tsuki, and a lot of the reverse and lunging techniques. The use of hps generates power through the body from the hips, up to the arms, and out at the fists. Does anybody think that training with this method is the best, or have you other opinions?

    A Question

This thread is a good example of people being taught differently and different styles and how they relate or dont relate to eachother. The theory behind turning on your heels is that your foot doesnt have to leave the ground, therefore holding much stronger ground. It can also be faster in some ways due to not having to take the time to lift your heel off the floor to turn. Could somebody please give me the theory behind turning on your toes please?
  18. lucky you. When I get back training I will be practising for a competition or two, and getting ready for a kobudo grading at the end of January. Are any of you entering competitions in the new year?
  19. if your best friend shows disrespect to martial arts would you stop being his friend and disown him all together. I think not, Movies like this should help people broaden their horizons, not cause bad feeling.
  20. I might be a bit late on this subject but I would like to wish everyone on karateforums.com and the Ifroggy network a Very merry christmas and a brilliant new year!
  21. looks pretty funny, but still is disrespectful to the martial arts. I will still be seeing it though! lol, god I am a hipocrit
