Thanx Jack. Whats the form with the most techniques?
-
cool, thanx for the information. What stance are kicks done from?
-
Thanx for that Sai, helped me a lot. I only know Ji'in out of the three respect kata's, and I find Ji'in easy to perform, but to perform well and get the speed of the techniques and movements in time with the power and stance change, I find quite challenging.I have used Jiin at a competition before, because of the above mistakes I managed to lose by 0.1 points, I also made a little mistake by doing a jodan Shuto Uke rather than a Manji Uke at the start! Wont happen again, I know what I am doing now. Nijushiho is a very very good kata for competitions, I like it because of the variety of moves and the direction changes it has. I also find it difficult to get the timing of the moves right with the stance changes and directional flow. The power I have no problem with. I guess these things have to be ripped to pieces to see what I can do to be better. C Ya guys Sorry If I bored you, I have to tlak cos I am bored myself. Bye

I odnt get angry when this happens, I just see it as body conditioning and fighting experience. Dont swet it, we all have our good days and bad days!

Jutte, thats one of the 3 kata's from the temple of something or other, I can't remember the name of the temple. There are, Jiin Jion and jutte, I only know Jiin. And Jiin is the best!

as a martial artist I feel that if you have the stupidity to go looking for a fight, all ranks and known information about you doing martial arts should be scratched. I feel that it is a stupid thing for a martil artist to do.It shows complete disregard for their instructors and the old MA masters and founders. Karate-ni-sente-nashi (no first attack in karate) By doing this, in a way you are breaking one of karate's first rules. But if its not karate, then I have no idea what rule you will be breaking.Maybe not a rule to be broken, but disrespect to be shown C Ya

'Poor is the student who does not surpass his master' n instructor at my school told this to the whole class. What your saying ad is you can't beat your instructor at sparring or kata. WRONG My instructor at the moment is Tobias_Reece. He actually said that I am better than him at sparring, but where kata and bunkai comes in, I cant beat him there, this is 1 goal I wish to achieve. To be better than my master in training!

We have bat Sai in Karate, but it is caled Bassai Dai, there are two in the set, Bassai Dai (to break thru the fortress major) and Bassai Sho (to break thru the fortress minor) Both Kata's are excewllent, I only know Bassai Dai, but am wanting to learn Bassai Sho. I do not Study Taekwondo, but like the fact of it very much. Is it ITF with the most focus on kicks or WTF, somebody has told me in the past, but I thikn its WTF! -
Tai Chi Help!!!!!
moobrack replied to bagpuss's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I like the look of Tai Chi Chuan, the slow one, the athletic one looks good too, but Which one would you say is the best to practise in spare time at home? -
I have never actually laid into anyone and never been layed into. I spar with people with control all the time, not because I chose to, just because people form my club are all contrlled at sparring.
-
well I don't "do" cyber, but I have never done any of those things while in a chatroom ever in my life on the net.
-
yeah, have fun and let us know!
-
yeah I get what your saying.I supose it all boils down to the way you train and compete, everyone has diferent styles and ways of doing things, and this is a good example.Thanx for sharing your point on the subject Sai

the way I see it is if you kiai on any technique whether a short kia or a long kia, the technique will feel and will probably be stronger, the louder and the more the kiai comes from the abdomen. I think of this when practising Kata! helps me a lot
-
no offence taken Tobias. The way I see it, how would your oponent know that a roundhouse punch was a martial arts technique if executed like just a brawling punch. I apologise if I didn't make it clear the first time. Bye

I know what you mean
