get a paper route, pay parents, parents pay doctor. I'm not talking about a weekly visit. You could also talk to your phy ed teacher. Does your school have a home ec divisionl. Foods and nutrition go hand and hand.

Personally I think you're playing with fire. Get a health plan.

Still go see a doctor. Actually you should have seen a doctor before starting exercise. Ask about your diet while your at it.

Because we know which style is better ! Sorry couldn't resist that one

Careful, do you remember the last time you punched a wall?

Sheesh, why does everyone say pool cue ? I've been wacked by one and they only sting enough to make you madder.

The ones with "Thai" in their names because they spice up the place.

TJS, I think it takes either takes talent or alot of training in a single art to recognize what is really good from other arts. There are many people that have come and gone to our club that had 10-20 years of various martial arts experience. I'd say they were good at none of their arts. Their hodge podge of mediocre techniques were their undoing. I'd say training in one art has helped me appreciate and understand other arts better. I would however be hesitant to art jump until I had gained competence in one.

kids nowadays have no respect. No sense in teaching punks no matter the age.

Cutkick - brief description?
rb replied to DokterVet's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
low round house perhaps? -
I don't really like treadmills. Disadvantages: -House smells like smelly me after a work out -Mill doesn't go fast enough -really loud -no fresh air -real boring running staring at the walls, tv etc. Advantage -better than nothing -can do it when it's snowing or raining although that hasn't stopped me from running outdoors before. who cares about the other kids. If they're not your friends now they still won't be when you run the treadmill.

Anyone got good excuses for a hole in the wall?
rb replied to BKJ1216's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I was walking along and it just jumped right out at me. Tripped and fell against the wall. Personally I'd face the music. -
Nope. It's not like there's a conversion rate like lbm to kilos. Also considering we have only a white sash and a black sash - where would the rainbow of coloured belts fit in ? There are a lot of basics that are shared between various marital arts that let experienced students absorb material faster. However, there are other concepts, techniques that must be built on and a student not versed in them must start from square one. Why would you want a rank that you have not earned ? You know for youself that you have reached a certain competence in another art and that cannot be taken away from you. However that still means you could know absoulutely squat about another.

How useful are open hand strikes really?
rb replied to MuayThai Fighter's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
attemting to parry, block or evade a strike would be much more prudent -
It refers to techniques for conditioning the body to resist damage. A competent instructor can teach you how.

we don't really have any. You're basically expected to push hard for most of the 3 hour practice. If you're out of shape you hold up the class while we wait for you to complete the form, drill, conditioning or technique. No mercy on out of shape sparring partners either. People often find a second wind after being pummeled for a while.

should young kids do a martial art?
rb replied to kickbuttnat's topic in Instructors and School Owners
5 or 6 is alright if they have a concept of respect which kids have none of today.
