It has to be interesting, or the people who made fun of you for playing D&D back in the day wouldn't be asking you to join their fantasy football league.

Unfortunately, the attitude is part of school wrestling. Then again, intimidation is part of the game, and confidence in hard earned ability is better than low self esteem due to lack of effort. Since I only wrestled for about a month and a half in school (the coach always made me practice with guys two years older and 20+ pounds heavier than me, so I got hurt a lot and never got to learn anything) I missed out on that, beyond seeing the attitudes of the overwhelming majority of the male population of my school. Personally, I stick with the "emotionless" look for intimidation purposes--the strutting and showboating just seem stupid to me. Emotionless works with educated adults, but Wandelei Silva is scarier to school children than Mirko Crocop. That being said, I must agree that bad attitudes are bad.

Great technique, cool haircut, awful music.

Intuition is often the subconscious mind picking up on subtle things your conscious mind doesn't quite get. If you have other places to go, go there.

3/8 jogged around the room a couple times, stretched then did 25 3minute rounds of sparring.

It's all William Randolf Hearst's fault.

There is nothing wrong with art for the sake of art, but there is so much realistically applicable self defense that it could be entertaining to practice for a lifetime.

Christmas trees are now very much an American tradition, despite being German. Kyu and dan ranking came from a Japanese boardgame, and are now practically universal in martial arts.

The first thing I would do upon getting documents back would be to print copies of the important ones. I know paper is out of fashion in this century, but it is immune to computer crashes.

Some people's eyes tell you that they've seen things. His eyes tell you that people have seen him.

That's great. Sounds like a fun day.

2nd Degree Test..Need Music Help

\ What is a belt test exactly? Think about it. Isn't it a procedure to see what you know, and how well you know it? Does making a person write papers or test for hours at a time in front of intimidating higher rankis make you any better than minutes before the test?? Does doing a kata to music make you a better martial artist? This gives me an idea for a new thread in General Martial Arts...stay posted! lol To me the test is a formality, none of us test unless we can pass. It's more of a get together, as our group doesn't all live here anymore. The trailer unloading is a good side-effect of having several strong young men gathered. -

Or maybe you've been Mr. Myagi-ed into painting a fence or unloading a trailer of gravel. -
I have a bag for gear, and for clothes or gi I take a reusable shopping bag. The kind you get at Walmart for 50 cents. You can wash it with your clothes and keep from making your gym bag all nasty.

In the original post it was said the song should have a feel of joy. Think Kenpachi having fun. -

Vitamin String Quartet's Dragonforce cover is awesome. Tool doesn't have much that qualifies as joyful, unless you're a nihilist. -

Hoped I could help. I'm a bit of a dork so not everyone's taste will be the same. -
Been doing techniques the wrong way for 6 years!

Ah, the AHA! moment. With individuals and humanity these are huge. Fire, the wheel, stone age, bronze age, iron age, steel, electricity. Long periods would go by with minor advancements, but once in a while, something revolutionary happens that changes the world. It's the same for individuals. A few major things for me: Realized my sparring stance was too defensive because of fear of being hit. Adopted a more aggressive mentality. Stop hits. Realized I needed to train more technique on my left side as well as right. Adopted the idea of principles of combat as opposed to individual techniques. Developed strategies based on body type of opponent. Defanging the snake. Prison shanking. A stab from every angle of slash. Peekaboo style boxing. -
I just chuckled a little. I thought of telling someone "I want you to crack this guy in the ribs hard enough to cause a trembling shock. But no pushing, that's just taking things too far."
