Speak with the parents!! Have the child in attendance with them during this conference. Then, emphasize what's expected of them, especially the child in question. Let them all know what the consequences will be if your expectations aren't meet. To learn the MA effectively, the student must take it serious and not be lacadaisical. And if the student can't follow your expectations, then show said student where the exit door is. Can lead the horse to water, but, we can't force the horse to drink the water. A MA student has to want to do it, and in that, that can be a tricky thing to learn, including said instructors. I don't need any student that just doesn't care, and in that, my patience does have it's limits. Good luck!!

I've not heard of him either, but we all live in a big world. -
My favorite drills involves my partner moving in and out and to either sides and so on and so forth with the pads in no particular way. Why? In real life, our opponents don't always, if at all, move any perscribed manner; they just move. This drill makes one think because not always is said target(s) within rangeable abilities. This drill also forces one to also drill the many phases of Koshi. Koshi is more than "hips", Koshi involves using your whole body in a coordinated manner to generate and transfer power, and to assist mobility. MOVE THE TARGETS!! Make them work for the targets in an effective manner.

Solid OP, very solid!! Over the many, many years, I've experienced these wonderful moments like you've described with my own Dai-Soke an untold amount of times because that was his way. At times, he'd call them a "test" and at other times he'd call them a "rememberance", and still, at other times he'd call them a "visit". Thank you for your post!!

While many noted great MA masters of yesterday, and possibly today, have passed away while on the floor of their choice, I do not wish to end my MA journey while on said floor because it's not that I don't love the MA, I do, it's just that I love my God and my family much more, and sometimes, the MA limits those cherished moments. It's the choice of the MAist and not the choice of other MAists and the like, imho!!

Experiment 3 is the same as 2 except that the training was in how to walk. (Not clear to me whether this was the same group of women from exp 2) Then finally from the conclusion: I've not had a chance to trawl through all 24 pages of results yet but I thought the above would be interesting at least. Very solid post!!

I've no opinion one way or another concerning GKR.
