I would suggest low kicks, take out his knees, he cant stand and fight,other than that try to out maneuver and out last him ,from what ive seen he doesnt have very good conditioning
All the core muscles should be focused on, as that is where all power is generated from,helps protect internal organs from strikes, and makes you harder to unbalance.
Dumbbells are an excellent way to work the entire body since they make you work each side of your body individually really hitting the stabalizing muscles. They are a great choice especially if you are limited on space.
That is an excellent policy. I used to know it but it has been some time since I was certified. I honestly dont know if anyone else in the dojo knows or not.
It has definitely made me look at katas in different ways,very informative even though they reference Goju katas which Im not familiar with. I would recomend it to anyone who does katas regardless of style.
Hi Karatejock first off Idont thinm its ever too late to start training. Just remember your probably not going to be able to keep up with the younger students, so takeit slow and listen to your body,it will tell you when your overdoing it. Good luck!
Against multiple opponents I wouldnt advise going to the ground,because while you may have one opponent down there with you it leaves you open for attacks from the others.
