I especially liked the line about the $1 coin turning into a black helicopter. LOL

Shoulda popped a cap in Saddam back in '91. Just my opinion, though. Oh, the UN sucks. Just out to force the US to bow to the rest of the world, when we are the ones who keep everyone else from killing themselves off. The US should maintain its sovereignty at all costs. I say kick the UN out of our country. We give them a place to meet and they say where are our dues? We give food and aid money to the entire world and they say, Hey you have back dues that need to be paid and they are 3 times what anyone else pays. Time to punt!

Bad idea for the common person to get it whenever they want. Medical mj? It has some merits to it. I would have to go with a big NO. THC, the active drug in mj builds up and store in the fat of the body and can cause "flashback" or recurring highs. Alcohol doesn't have this effect. Imagine driving down the road and BANG, flashback! You haven't toked in a month and yet your body has released stored drugs into your system and you run over a small child. Now, what you did in your own home, that didn't hurt anyone at the time, has killed or maimed a small child. Yep, I gotta go with no.

Karatekid1975, I know what you mean! My favorite food is Sterzing potato chips. You can only get them in a radius of 100 miles from Burlington, Iowa. I used to live in the radius area. Now I can only get them when I go to visit family or order off the net. That is expensive either way. They are the greasiest, best tasting chips ever!! Full flavored potato taste. Only three ingrediants, potatoes, oil, salt. That's it. Man am I getting hungry! This post sucks!!!! AAAGGGGHHHHH!!! lol

For women and MATURE, health knowledgable people....
kchenault replied to three60roundhouse's topic in Health and Fitness
OK, now while I am a guy, my wife is a nurse who worked several years for an ObGyn. Having too little body fat can complicate a females menstruel cycle, such as sporadic, irregular cycles. It can also cause endometriosis. This is a building up of the unshed lining of the uteran wall. This can cause serious problems when the time comes and a woman wishes to have children(infertility). My wife suffered from irregular cycles in high school that were accompanied by intense, and I'm talking lying on the floor in fetal position, cramps. Her doctor told her it was normal for some women to have intense cramping, but she started taking birth control pills for this very problem, and her cycle became regular. Please see an ObGyn about this. You'll be glad you did. -
Asthma affecting my sparring and stamina training
kchenault replied to circa02's topic in Health and Fitness
My son has stress induced asthma. If he exerted himself in any way, he could go into an attack. Our doctor put him on a maintenance inhaler. He takes 2 puffs each morning, and now we can't tell he suffers from asthma. I join him twice a week in TKD class. Check with your doctor about this solution, it might work. -
Hey KickChick, could you tell me where to kick someones leg for that self defense technique? Be specific please. Thank you in advance.

My first instructor in Moo Duk Kwan TKD, was a 5th dan master. In order to get that title he had to go to Korea and undergo a "Master" testing. He had to perform outrageous feats like staying in icy water for a set amount of time, walking on hot coals, stuff like that. Anywho, he had to prove he had the mental capacity, physical capacity, and a big enough check to fill the organizations coffers. I believe Kuk Sool Won has a masters test. I have been known to be wrong though.

worst martial arts movie ever
kchenault replied to ramcalgary's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I agree with all here Van Damage isn't all he thinks he is. But to be fair Superfoot Bill Wallace only uses his left leg. He is what, six time world champ?? I may have the number wrong but I do know he was champion. Would you say he was not balanced? -
Blade 2 was a little gross, but I enjoy watching Mr. Snipes perform his "limited" number of techniques. Side note, Blade is supposed to be a bad a$$, therefore bad a$$ moves.

Did you know that when drinking water, you should drink ice water. Doing this makes your body burn more calories to warm the water to body temperature!

Thanks KickChick. I appreciate the response.

KickChick, I would love to run because I know the benefits for me would be astounding! BUT, (there's always a but), I get terrible, and I mean terrible, shin splints. Any suggestions? I would love the cardio and weight loss benefits of this activity. Not to mention being able to run after my children more often than I do. Some more information, I have pretty muscular legs. Very thick and muscular calves. I have always been a sprinter and not very good at distance running. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Husband doesn't like me studying Karate

A lease program, hmm? Not a bad idea, but the lease would last at least 18 years!! And just like a car, the child consumes more fuel as the years go by and "breaks down" and needs to be fixed. Stop the madness!! -

Easier? It may seem like it. Unfullfilling and boring? For me, definately! I wouldn't trade my kids for anything. They make life interesting, although I may not always act like it. Children are by no means a waste of time, money or energy. They are the future. -
I don't have money to train..
kchenault replied to koreantiger81's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I pay $110 a month for my son and myself. I consider this expensive, but only because I have a limited budget. I also had to sign a contract for 1 year at a time. I can go monthly at the end of this period. The other TKD school here in my town was just as bad. -

I really think just about everyone missed the point of this thread. I am a Christian Martial Artist. That is all that was required for a reply to this post. -

Okay. I am going to be a little, okay a lot, old fashioned here. How is your relationship at home other than Karate? Are you meeting each others "needs"? I don't mean to get too personal, but my wife and I occasionally have these problems. We have 4 children, ages are 9, 7, 2, and 10 months. I am 32 and she is 31. Now, she is a stay at home mom, the most underrated, underpaid, thankless job in the world. BUT, one of the most important! She home schools and works part-time as well so we can make ends meet. Now you can imagine what kind of energy level we have for one another. Sometimes ZERO! You need to worry about your marriage first and foremost if you love each other. If my wife said tomorrow, which she wouldn't, QUIT! I wouldn't hesitate. What makes my wife happy makes me happy. Would I regret? Yeah, but I would get over it. There is generally a tomorrow. Best advice, get him to talk about his misgivings about you learning Karate. If it just has to do with the children, he needs to suck it up and watch them for a little bit twice a week. If all else fails, talk to your instructor and find out why you HAVE to be there twice a week. A Kuk Sool Won school here in Lawrence, KS has the policy of 3 times a week mandatory. I feel they are being exclusionary. Surely your instructor isn't that way. Most will understand if they are family oriented. I'll get off my soap box now. -
"Martial Art" Magazine Sexist??
kchenault replied to monkeygirl's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I have a trend that needs to be reversed. Monkeygirl made the comment of the magazine. Lets level the playing field. We(men) will run more women in the magazines if we can have a national prostate cancer awareness month like women have a breast cancer awareness month. Not to be flippant, but more men die each year from prostate cancer than women do from breast cancer. Now, what that had to do with anything? Nothing!! Absolutely nothing! But it doesn't seem fair to me. The thoughts just come from nowhere and I can't stop them. Sorry -
Case in point, mine. I started TKD about 4 months ago after a 7 year hiatus from the arts. I weighed in at 220 lbs, and I am only 5'7". Now in 4 months of twice a week workouts, improved diet, and simply walking a couple of miles on the days I don't train(which by the way only takes about 25 minutes at my pace), I am down to 206.5 lbs! I can see the definition in my legs coming back and I feel great. I don't feel good on the days I don't get exercise now. So, what in the world am I talking about? GO FOR IT! Stop sitting around and do something. Anything. You will feel better, look better, and your body and mind will thank you. Have fun and train! Pilsung!

I should clarify. Ernie achieved these wins as a black belt. But I also did say that it comes down to individual children.
